Hi All,

First post, wow what a resource!

I have searched as best as I could and couldn't find an answer.

Here's the deal....

I just picked up an 02 Infiniti I35. I want to add an aftermarket GPS with a promount clip to the right side of the dash. I have a setup similar to that in my Murano, there is a power outlet (in the Murano) just to the left of the glovebox that works great. No such outlet in the "new, I35.

I would like to hardwire the GPS to a "non constant" power source. One that just comes on with the ignition.

Before I start unscrewing the dash, does anyone know of any nearby wires that I could safely tap into, to speed my project along?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to NICO!

Is the cigarette lighter outlet in the dash switched? Typically they are...

If that's the case, I would tap in to the wires that feed that outlet. You already know that it's designed to handle the current load from an accessory.

Great Idea! Thanks for the prompt reply.

Another question. What's the "Winter Package"? I think I have it as just about everything is heated, but what all does it include?

Thanks!

I have no idea on that one... hopefully someone else will chime in soon with an answer for that one. Maybe a block heater?

I wonder if the owner's manual would tell you. If you don't have a paper copy you can download a copy free of charge at http://www.infinititechinfo.com
