So Iv just finished building my rb20det. I put 4.25 quarts of oil in. Cranked engine by hand and there is barely any oil on my dipstick. What gives? Is there anything I could have done during the rebuild to allow oil to pass where it shouldn't? Btw I rebuilt the cylinder head and changed out gaskets and seals for the block please help me. I'm afraid to start the engine

Did you put your oil drain plug back in?

The oil filter keeps some, the upper galleys/head keeps some. So it's probably all where it needs to be. Fill to level now and watch for any more oil loss.
