Hey everyone, I'm buying a 92 Q and I know its plenty torquey andhas a decent amount of horsepower already, but I know the car isn't exactly light either so in case I want more power, or maybe throw on some HID or some different lights or random stuff like that... where is a good place for quality parts.... And please nobody say ebay

Thanks Phil

This is the world's best Q45 site. And it's 3 in the morning, so all the members of the world's best Q45 site are sleeping in their beds. You have to give people more than 1 hour in the middle of the night to respond. People can't respond in their sleep.

Also, you will probably find a lot of info by searching. Not that we're not happy to answer your question, but being the world's best Q45 site, the topic has been covered before so a lot of answers are already out there waiting to be read.

In answer to the question, though:There's not really a single website solution for parts for ANY car. That's sort of a backward approach. Best idea is to determine what parts you want, then look for them. Google is a great tool. But there's not really a single Q45 parts site that'll serve all your needs.

Also you have to keep in mind that the Q45 has never had very good aftermarket support. There just aren't that many parts out there in the first place. And many parts are no longer made, but can still be found, in which case your dreaded ebay is indeed the solution.

For power, a good place to start is a NICO ECU, assuming your car is in good running condition (if not, rehabilitation is the best first step).zerothread/368755

For HID, I have no personal experience, but if you search the forums you'll find a lot of great advice, most of which is not model-dependent, so don't restrict your searches to just the Q45 forum on that topic.

Generally speaking, the mantra here is to restore, then modify.

For instance, does this 1992 have the new chain guides and tensioners? Was the old guide completely removed, or are parts of it still in the engine's sump? Was the oil pump chain drive replaced? Sparkplugs?

How do the injectors ohm? The KS? When was the last time the TB, IAC and EGR valves and the plenum and lower runners cleaned? Valve cover gaskets replaced? When were the fluids and filters last changed? Documented OCI? How are the brakes? Front tension rod bushings? upperlinks? The rest of the rubber in the suspension?

how is the cooling sytem and HVAC? Thermostat replaced when? Condition of tires? Fuel pump?

Fortunately, our freinds at IoS (aka Joe)

http://www.infinitipartsusa.com

has the best prices on OEM and most of the few after market parts taht can be used, like M1 oil filters. Even Ray's wheels along with a few NISMO parts can be had through him.

Spend some time reading the previous posts at 3 AM instead of waiting around for an answer to a general question that has been asked many times before. A few years ago, the first thing a new owner on this board would do is read all the previous posts, especially by Q45tech (and follow the links he provided) and TexasOil if one had an active model. It is still the best approach for someone who wants the best bang for the book and to understand of what level of performance these cars are capable.

Never have seen the member named u post here.
