First off I know this is a n00b question and this is my first post on the forums, but I need some help with this. About 2 months ago my fiance and I bought a 92 240sx through a buddy of ours (not him), and every since then we have been going through it with a fine toothed comb to fix all the issues with it. Recently we began looking through the engine bay and found 8 disconnected plugs throughout the motor, and have managed to find where they go. However, we are having a hell of a time trying to find where this one goes...

It comes off the injector rail (you can see a little bit of it in the picture. Any help would be greatly appreciated to us.

Just FYI, the guy we bought it from did the motor swap himself, and half-assed it, so now we are trying to make it right, this is one of our daily drivers (yes it runs and drives believably haha).

You need to check your ecu for codes to give you an idea of what's disconnected but I think that is you're knock sensor plug. Knock sensor is under the intake plenum bolted to the very top of the block between cylinders 2-3.

That's the problem with all the wires unplugged and issues, I'm not getting any check engine lights. I'm going to try to borrow an obdii scanner today and see.

As for that, do I need to remove the plenum to plug it back in?

Your car is not obd2 and that's probably why you aren't getting a check engine. You have to check the codes manually. Idk about the ka (I've been sr for like 10 years) but its definately easiest to pull the plenum on an sr.

I thought the ka24(de) was obdII? If not, how do I manually check the codes?

you can get the FSM (factory service manual) here on the site by searching, the procedure to check the ecu is in the fsm. that is definitely for the knock sensor, no doubt about it. its one of two plug-to-plug extensions and the other one has bigger ends on it. the knock sensor is definitely going to make the car run bad, not being hooked up. you can get to the knock sensor through the plenum with a long wobble extension and socked inserted between the center two runners after moving the fuel lines. the sensor is round with one bolt in the center. you will need to remove the sensor, plug it back in to the harness, tape it to a bent coat hanger and slide it back into position. then tape the bolt to the socket and tighten it back on. dont get any tape between the block and the sensor or the sensor and the bolt.

Thanks for the help guys, after further investigation, I found that the knock sensor isn't ever on the car?! Guess I need to go order one and install it...
