Yes sounds like a dumb question, may be one. Someone cut the O2 sensor wires off at the O2 sensor. Would there be a reason for doing this??? Also I have no clue where the wires would go if there were any!? It's a 1978 280z. Any ideas or help would be nice :)

No O2 sensor in 78, they added the O2 in 79.

Yeah I read that shortly after I posted this, guess it just came pre installed with the manifold they put on it. Thanks.

Must be a manifold or engine from a 79 or later. your 78 should have an "N42" block, the 81 switched to "F54" the block ID is cast into the engine just behind the drivers side engine mount. Might want to check your head as well, it's located on the passenger side near the base of the head between #1 and #2 spark plugs. Your 78 should be N47 (correct head not a great one), 79-83 na is cast P79, (an even worse head).
