Where do you draw a line on keeping a car on the road?

I'm a firm believer in bringing cars back.

I rescued my 1991 Miata from a slow, tortured death in the hands of a hoodlum (I got it from the ghetto - East Palo Alto).

I can't shake the feeling that the Miata is happy to get a second chance at life, and to be driven the way it deserves. Makes me happy in turn.

Outside of emotional attachments thought it might not make much financial sense.
"M" package Miata's can be bought for as low as ~$4,000.

used to be rust is what makes me get rid of a car. That or being poor, but I just found a large frame rust hole in my S13 that I have owned for the last 11 years (see sig) I am gonna repair this rust to the best it can be and keep rocking it because the damn car is like a member of my family at this point. I just can't abandon it. :(
