where do you connect an aftermarket tach???

i have the + connected to the ing.switch. i also connected the light + to a dashboard light so it dims with the dimmer. i have the ground connected to a good ground. where dose the sig. wire go ????

i would think to the sensor that is on the input shaft of the transmission that is usually where tachs get the signal from

yea i know 99% of the tachometers i have worked with read off the input shaft goin to the transmission because there is no gear reduction if they used the crankshaft it would get oscilations from each combustion so they use the input shaft with a disc and magnetic pickup trust me man ive been doing this for a while

my tach runs off the distributor or the coil not the trans .

ohh i see honda. RB's dont have upgrade to coil packs dude or coil over plugs

all motors have coils and i have a 1993 hardbody truck with an k24e sohc

The coil is where most aftermarkets hook. Should show in the tach directions.

if a car has a distributor, a distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wire, and spark plugs then where are the coils?? not all cars have coils man

all motors have some sort of coil its where the spark comes from, ask round please before you post again...

i traded around with my buddies and got the tach, didn't come with directions.

All cars and trucks have coils, older ones like the hard body have a single coil plugged into the center port on the distributor cap, others like my old Z and some newer cars have a coil on top of each spark plug but they have coils. On the hard body hook the wire to the positive on the coil.

If you don't know where the coil is, just follow the center spark plug wire from the distributor. Its mounted to the front fender, on the driver's side of the engine bay.
