So I was finally putting in my second light , after about 3 hours of pulling my radiator frame up I noticed that I have three weird cables with caps on them, one under the driver side radiator bracket thing , and two by the battery, both of them have 2 holes in them, I tried to track it down but I lose it in the fuse box , the other one goes in with the other cables in the little tube so I don't want to pull it out.

That one at the top could go to your horns. How many pins are there?

how many pins at that plug? If one of the pairs of wires you see there is black and redish/pinkish it goes to the switch on the clutch. Basically it wont let you start the car without the clutch pedal in. got a pic of that second plug or a better plug relative to everything else?

The wires for the clutch pedal thing is also there on the autos. It hooks up to the lower harness on the at iirc.

if the bigger plug on the left has a black/pink stripe wire on it, that's the one that'll keep your car from starting, and that plug is towards the back of that fuse box.

Tiger, did you do a 5 speed swap? If you did you'll probably end up chopping the plug off and jumping the two wires there. That other brown plug, I'll take a gander in my engine bay. If I don't see it, it's from the at lower harness and goes to one of those plugs along the side of the fuse box. Otherwise I think it may go with another plug that's towards the front of the car but I'll take a look first.

180 fan... I think you can really help me out.. the former owner of the car really messed up the wiring to where I had no lights in the dash/gauges... odometer and trip didn't work. I am rebuilding an SR and putting it in.. I wanted all the stuff in the car to work so I just went to the Junkyard and took a complete wiring harness from a 93 (same as mine) but the car in the junkyard had an automatic transmission... so the harness had the A/T plugs on it.. I had some plugs that didn't hve a home and I tried to see if anyone knew where they went or if they had anything to do with the car not starting... go here to see my post ~~~> zerothread?id=185288

Anyway, I found this big relay (clutch interlock relay??) and pluged 2 plugs into it. Still no work. I'm thinking that it has to be something so simple. can u help?

Hey I went out to look in my engine bay for the black with pink stripe plug and I couldn't find one wire in my harness that had it... maybe pink with a black stripe? And it's only a plug with 2 wires in it? I found s omething that could be it... here's the pic! This pic is so horrible but I tried my best to describe it... this is the only pink on black that I found.. and it has 3 wires.

Heeelp.

Hey, I was looking in my FSM on the Harness Layout and I THINK it's the "Dual Pressure Switch" (The Small Plug) and the other 2 pronged one goes to the "Condenser Fan Motor". You can look closely for yourself... do you know where to download it?

Tiger, got any better description as to where the plugs were comin out of? I poked around my fuse box today and couldn't find em. I did however pull all the AC stuff from my harnesses along with pull all the AC parts from my car which could explain why I didn't find a few of those plugs. The black/white wire sounds familiar though. I'll keep poking around and see what I can remember. I have one last day on my vacation and I'll hunt around to see what I can find down there.

Tiger, your black/white stripe and black/yellow stripe wires should be jumped if you you're looking to do an auto to manual conversion. Those are for the switch that goes to your clutch pedal.

not sure about the placement of that particular pair of wires ont he s14, but on the s13 it comes around the front of the fuse box. Pretty heavy gauge wires compared to all the other wires up front. Looks like a 10 or 12 gauge wire.

Wow tiger, it looks like you've got a bit of a wiring job you're gettin done over there. Yeah that plug looks to be the on you got your hand on. I remember that plug being a bit hidden but yeah should be it.

I just borrowed a battery from another car and I jumpered the wires together...nothing my accessory relay behind fuse panel is still clicking. I checked ecu and I dont have any power to it! Aaah! What in the world has happened.. ((( the motor wiring harness has been cut up a lot near the ecu.. do you think the person before me may have wired things up wierd and when I put in this new harness from the A/T, it just doesn't want to work with it because the wiring is different? ahh, i'm gona go nutz

ok guys... i think i might have gone wrong here... on that plug under the fuse box... I hope I cut the right side... I believe I cut the side going back into the main harness ... I think that was bad... Should I have cut on the side that came from underneath the transmission? aah... help

(If you look at that pic right above... the wires that i'm grabbing, I cut....)

If you're gonna use the harness from the at for the mt swap, its weird. find a straight up mt harness. The problem I had from using an at harness was that the alternator wasn't charging the battery.

That's with an unbutchered wiring harness though. I'm not exactly sure how the previous owner sliced and diced that harness. It looks like it'll be a bit of a mess. But that black/yellow and the black/white wires should be the ones that keep your car from starting unless your clutch pedal's down.

Hey, I jumpererd the switch right and still nothing. i guess illl just have to find a multimeter and learn to use it. its probably the only way to find out where the prob is originating. <~~ that is me starting to go psycho w/ this car... , i'll let you know.

I had to go look at a friends car who did a 5sp swap.. I had the WRONG wires jumpered... I had a white and a black w/yellow stripe jumped... I should have jumpered the blk/wht and blk/yel together! Dang, but my starter is sticking and my battery is worthless.. so now I just need to get a batt and whack the starter. thanks for all the help. :-)
