Hi JRyneHmmons, You might want to read through this thread... it contains plenty of information on the wiring of DRL's.JRyneHammons wrote:I installed some LED's in my black rogue's grill. I have grounded the negative wires but I am unsure what is the best place to wire the positives to? I would like them to be on when the car is on. Maybe the ignition fuse? Idk if you can wire something to a fuse?
Please help
As for myself I see only 2 options. Either connecting from inside like from cigarette plug or acc 12V+ from headunit as you stated above but the best option would be connecting throw relay on the battery. This way you could still tap it to the fuse but throw relay on the battery and install an extra fuse. When I was connecting fog lights I used acc 12V+ from my headunit throw relay on the battery so it lights up as DRL but I have a switch so I can turn them off when the car is not running. Also if I decide to install any new led lights on the front I probably would connect them to the fog lights so I can turn them on/off at the same time with fog lights.philipa_240sx wrote:Definitely would not go straight to the battery. There is a risk you could drain the battery.
Fuel pump is a bad idea too. If there is a wiring problem you will loose the pump and the engine will stop. For that matter, I would stay away from all of the fuses under the hood as they run vital components of the vehicle.
It's under the dash like you said. LH side about where your knee would be.JRyneHammons wrote:I have decided to wire it to the accessory fuse. Can someone please tell me where the accessory fuse is? I know it's under the dash.
You have to pull the existing fuse, install the tap, then re-install the fuse. Here are the Cooper Bussman ATM fuse taps:Do i just get a fuse tap and throw it in the blank spot next to the 15's or do I need to replace an existing fuse?
