i have searched the fourms but i didnt find any thing on where exactly to connect the remote wire to or pics on where to drill the hole.

another question i heard it was better to run the rca jacks throught the oppsite side that i'm running the ac power cable?

Theres a little square "cutout" of the material on the firewall.. stick your head by your brake pedal and you will see it...Id assume thats the easiest spot to drill.

RCA and power wires may interfere with eachother, good choice keeping them apart... Ill move this to the audio section shortly so the sound gurus chime in

uummm sounds like your doing this right now, so here is my 2 cents, idk if exactly what your looking for, maybe apple or doc can be more specific . . . sorry no pics, @ work =(

so if you look at the hood release . . . follow it back towards the firewall, you should pass over some fuses and end up against the firewall where the floor meets it. There is a HUGE grommet there with a TON of wires coming through it, thats your hole.

IDK what your trying to feed through there, but I used it to feed the power cable to my amp. Used an exacto knife to cut an X in the silicon around the wires (IT is STUPID tight and strong . . .) sprayed some lube in there and went at it (thats what she said).

Dude...I never thought of using lube in there! I just gave up after a few minutes and cried myself to sleep in a corner of the garage....... What kind did you use? WD-40, or KY?

Seriously though...brilliant idea!

I drilled through behind the glove box. But since you seem to be going already, I'm not gonna post the pics back up (I've posted them somewhere on here before, just don't remember where). I was also running 0 AWG, so there really wasn't a grommet that was going to work easily for me.

As far as the turn on lead goes, there unfortunately isn't one on the stock non-bose radio that I know of. You'll have to improvise a bit it seems. I would just tap into the ACC on wire (unfortunately I don't have the FSM in front of me so I can't tell you what color that is). Doing this will turn the amp on whenever the car is in the ACC on position (not entirely ideal since the car me be set to ACC on with the stereo off - this is the only situation that would differ from an aftermarket deck or adding on to the bose). If I were doing that, this is probably how I would tackle that problem.

haha ya . . . my old man was helping me out with the install, it was my idea to just punch a hole through the silicon, but it was all sticky, then my pops thought of something, came back from the garage with some WD40 LOL. Slipped it right through and all the way back to my trunk

omg rob thank u so much i went with ur idea, i was a lil to scared to drill it through the fire wall my self (first timer). it was a lil hard, i cut the x out and got a flat head and taped a small wire to it and pushed through. once in i got that wire on the other side i then taped it down to the power cable and put a lil OIL and pulled it through with no problem. ya i got the ACC wire and just hooked it up to there and it works find. oh and i found out what color they were (violet/yellow) thanks for everything guys i would be lost with out u
