I recently got a maxima 2" lowered with Kyb shocks/springs. I am trying to get it insured but no luck @ AMEX, AAA and many other. Only progressive gave me a quote and that too very high, I am wondering where the people with modifications go for their insurance?

State Farm, and unless you're looking for a high rate don't offer the info that it's lowered. DON'T be fraudulant and lie, but don't answer any questions they don't ask. If you're worried about loss of parts, (accident) anything they will pay, will cover OEM parts, which always seem to cost more than aftermarket parts.

You might try getting quotes from an independent agent. I have no doubt they can find you a company that will insure you. Especially in the substandard arena. They may not cover the aftermarket parts themselves, but you should be able to at least have insurance.

Fezzik, a fellow maxima owner, uses State farm. I remember him saying they replaced all his aftermarket parts when he was involved in an accident.

Scott, isn't that who he uses?

Possibly State Farm, but I can't remember for certain.

Call state farm, I'm 31 with no tickets, in Wa. state and pay $47. per month for $500. deductable FULL coverage. But, like the armed forces, don't ask-don't tell. They don't know about any of my mods, they think it's bone stock.
