Love those guys, There are the only ones I've ever heard of that go to japan personally and video the car running before they chop it up. Also for less then 4k i got the clip with , fuel pump, driveshaft, the whole rear subframe w/ VSLD, all with complete brakes. Oh and they through in a few free T shirts if you wink at them

This is the time to buy a RB25/20 if you have the cash, they have an overstock of motors so basically, every price is wholesale.

Hey, yesturday I called Venus-Auto and asked for a quote on a clip and shipping. The clip is 1500 which is really good but the shipping is rediculous!! 2000 - 2500 just for shipping from CA to CT. So a few mins later I called JHOT and asked for the same quotes. The price on the engine isnt yet priced since they just got a new motorset from Japan. As for shipping its $270!! How much do you guys think rb20 motorset and clip will cost? Hopfully I can get a nice clip under 2g shipped. Thanks.

I am pretty sure you are misunderstanding the quote for shipping from Venus. They sell and ship a ton of engines... they wouldn't if their shipping was that much. I am sure you are being quoted $2000 to $2500 shipped.

Kamin... what's the story with the guy above offering to sell engines? Is he a NICO sponsor? I don't think his post should in this thread. Unless maybe Alex can vouch for him?

Yeah, I'd buy from them again, except I wouldn't get a clip. It's not worth the extra money for the cost of the clip and cost of shipping, plus the hassle of pulling the motor out of the clip, just to have the security of knowing everything's there. It cost me $750 to ship the clip, PLUS Venus' ****ty shipping company doesn't have the means to deliver a 1400lb. front clip to your driveway. So, I had to rent a fvcking forklift to pull it off the truck and get it in my garage. So shipping really cost me about $850

If you figure on getting a motorset instead, that's $300 less for what you're actually buying, probably $4-500 less for shipping, and less the hassle of pulling the motor from the clip. Were I to do it all again, I'd do that and save myself like $800 and one less headache.

They drove the car before they chopped it. Very clean without all that junk yard pen markings. I also got the fuel pump, driveshaft, rear subframe w/ VSLD, and front \ rear r33 brakes. And of course the Jarco T shirts.

man you picked it up didnt you?...... ahh im sitting in ohio with the other one they had waiting to be delivered, they said a guy in VA is debating having it shipped or not, and if he wants it shipped they will have it at my house this sat.... so i take it your the guy.. o.O looks like i wont be getting the clip any time soon......

-RB25DET-motor set-www.osakajdmmotors.com-2000. I picked it up myself in Montreal. HUGE warehouse. Crazy inventory.-My brother bought from them before me. And they seem to be really helpful. They respond well to emails. I haven't swaped the motor in yet, so we'll see if I still like them then. So far its been great.

So, does anyone know where else I can get an RB25DET full clip in sacramento. Venus is out for another like 3 weeks and I kinda want to get started. I don't really want to do a shipping company. Are there any other importers in northern california? I would be willing to drive a ways. Thank you.

Originally picked up RB25, but motor was shot. It took them 5 months to get me another motor. I upgraded to the 26 for an extra $750 and kept the oil pan and trans. They said the 26 was a VERY CLEAN motor, but when i got there it had obviously been hit HARD in a Front -end collision with all sorts of parts busted including: the waterpump and pulley, power steering pump, plenum, and the really cool charge pipe that says twin turbo. It was also missing a ton of stuff they promised would be there. Intercooler piping, bov's, mafs.

Motor is still running strong, so for the right price, I might buy from them again. They were extremely shady the entire process.

yea, John the guy that runs it is a d!ck. i reported them to the Canadian Better Business Bureau...

the engine runs great but they just ***holes and lied about the wiring and broken parts

got an R33 S2 RB25DET from JDMEngineDepot.com, picked it up in Kearny, NJ for $2500. probably do business with again, they seem knowledgeable and are friendly. hopefully their engine is good, haven't gotten to start it up yet, but it was very clean and had no broken/missing parts.
