Ok, so-Overheated again on quick drive, less than a mile. I have replaced the water pump, thermostat, rad cap and flushed the system. I burped the engine, several times-I dunno what's up anymore. Yesterday I drove it to and from work- 5 or 6 miles, both ways, no problem. WTF????
After overheating today, I pulled the rad cap, and refilled with water, then started the car, and it started spitting out the coolant- emptied the radiator.... I let it calm down, added more water.... after 30 seconds, it puked that out too... had to shut the car off, refill, cap it and drive a few blocks, then repeat the process to get home... The floorboards are dry, the hoses are water tight, except for a small drip off one of the hoses under the intake- when it overheats, the fluid spills from the overflow, nowhere else that I can see, engine is dry, exhaust system is dry, nothing coming from the tailpipe....I'm lost... about ready to sell the car. been dealing with this for 2 weeks... please tell me someone has a clue what's wrong!!!

I have a second, electric fan in between my belt driven fan and the radiator on my 92 vert. It's in a round housing, and looks like it belongs there...is this fan part of the original equipment? Or has someone added it? Maybe it is the cause for my overheating issues? This fan hides under the shroud and can only be seen from the inside of the engine bay looking outward toward the radiator.

It's the factory auxiliary fan. It kicks on when the A/C is on and the car gets a bit too hot. This is usually when the car is sitting still at a light.

EDIT: I merged your two threads since they're related.

I'm not sure what your overheating issue can be. You've tackled all the usual suspects. Are you certain you are having a real overheating issue or are you just relying on the factory temp sensor? I would recommend replacing the single prong sensor if you're relying on that to tell you what your temp is.

If it's overheating at slow speeds and OK at highway speeds, then the fan clutch unit may be bad.

Ok, so just an update- I have gone ahead and returned the STANT "SAFETY" thermo I bought, and replaced it with the STANT OEM replacement, I also flushed the system (again) and replaced the fan clutch. SO now EVERY part of the coolant system is new. Hopefully this should solve my problems... I'll let you guys know what happens....Thanks for all your help!
