So I am rebuilding my 97 240 that was really creamed in the front. I bought a front clip from a 95 that was an MT vehicle. My car originally was an AT that had been converted to MT. When I wrecked it though, the wiring across the front was seriously damaged and the headlight wiring on the 97 and 95 models arent the same. I decided to swap the wiring from the 95 into my 97. I knew that some things wouldnt be the same, seeing that this harness has a clutch pedal switch connector (which I connected to the switch), and lacked some wires which were a part of the AT system. I needed the fuse box as well, so I used the 95 box. Now I dont have a connector to route to the starter solenoid, and obviously without that connected, it only clicks a relay in the underdash fuse panel. What do I need to do to make my car start from the switch? If I had an FSM with an ETM I could find these missing wires and where it all went wrong, but I dont have those resources. I was able to start it with my Power Probe II, by introducing the voltage to the solenoid to start it and it runs fine. I still have the AT box under the dash, the AT ECU, and the dash is completely removed right now. Has anyone else ever done this? I am hoping I just overlooked something (like what the 2 prong connector with the 2 hot wires in it goes to) and that this will be a simple fix. I have spent a decade in the service industry as a tech, but dont have any info avaiable to view the harness diagrams to find my missing link. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and any snide comments can be kept to yourself. I dont criticize, nor will that make this car start from the switch. Thanks in advance, and I will buy a six pack for the person who can help me get this right! ( I wonder if you can mail beer on dry ice!)

Well, I think I am in for a big shock here, but looks like maybe I have to go around the facory anti theft system. No big problem there. After that I am sure there will be other things that come up, but at least I have somewhere to start. I will keep responding to my own post just so there is a reference in case anybody else is an idiot like myself.
