Where'd you go for tint?

A question for those of you who have had your windows tinted post-sale. Did you have it done at the dealer or did you go to a separate shop? Is there really any difference? I'm OK with my dealer but, of course, want to do this right! Thanks.

I just had mine done. I went to a place that specializes in aftermarket items such as tinting, graphics, etc. They had a lifetime warranty on the work, and had the best price. I was concerned of bubbling, so I wanted to make sure I was covered if it happened. Very happy with the work!

Actually, your dealer will be more than happy to take your money for the tinting, and send your car off to a shop to have it done. You can save quite a bit of money by finding out which shop they take it to, and just skipping the middle man and taking it there yourself.

Make sure the shop you take it to stands behind their work, and preferably is a well-established shop that has been around for many years.

Great advice, thanks, folks. I wasn't sure if the dealers had their own capabilities in-house. Off to the yellow pages & telephone, unless anyone knows of a good shop in St. Louis!Thanks.

before getting the tint done with a particular shop please make sure there is a warrantyon the tint from fading and or bubbling. make sure the shop is legit. The tint shop in my area i take my cars to does lifetime gurantee and they torch the tint when its on to take out the bubles and make sure there never will be any.

I'm gettin my v's windows tinted right now, in valencia, CA. This place called sundimmers inc. Found them on the web. They've been tinting for 24yrs. I'm getting the formula one pinnacle ceramic tint! 15% all around and 50% on the windsheild. If ur in the market for tint and live in or around valencia,ca check it out. They r a bit pricey... lifetime warrenty on tint even if u sell the car to someone else., The tint will still be coverd for the nxt buyer.
