I'm in the states and i'm looking to purchase a ca18det. I know i can use a search engine to find such an answer but i would like real buyers' info on where they purchased the engine, what came with it, was there anything missing, customer service and total price. I'm probably asking for a lot but i figure if i poll as many people as i can then i'll be helping other people who want to purchase this engine as well. Thanks!

I got mine from JGYcustoms.com, They were really helpful and always answered questions I had. They just happend to have one on a shipment they got w/ a bunch of SR's and they didnt have a ECU or Wiring harness with it but I was able to get both of those off of Boostboy.

Got mine from Venus. They were helpful but their shipping company sucks anus hard. Part of my AAC assembly was broken off but there is another member on here that had the same problem and he just sent them a picture of it and they replaced it for him. I just ended up busting out the JB weld. If i ever needed to buy another CA it would definately be from Venus.

all the problems people have, like cut harness' and broken parts won't happen if you get a clip, correct?

and is there anyone that'll sell a CA18DET Silvia clip with the body work? and is there a shipping company that'll take some care of the body work?

got mine from venus. it had a clutch fan that was out of alignment as hell. that alone ate 3 water pumps. the engine runs like a swiss watch, ive not had any problems other than those caused by the fan (remove it and use the ac fan). doesnt like that 93 octane crap though, it ran like a bat out of hell when i put some 104 octane sunoco race fuel in it.

I just e-mailed Venus, $1500 for a clip, which isn't that bad, seeing as SR20 clips are going for $2500-$2800, 45-55k miles

ummm i guess i need to ask again... how do i contact "Venus" so i can order my engine?

r34 gtr: it doesn't run well on 93 octane? That's the only type that's readily available where i live and i don't feel like paying extra for 100+ octane.

What does everyone else run in their cars on a daily basis?

Venus

I think the best we've got here is 92 and i've run that so far and it does ok, but then again i haven't really pushed it hard yet.

EDIT: you beat me on the link :)

I'll let you know when my motor comes in next week. Or you can contact Jon, slw240sx here. I think he said he is going to start selling them soon.

what kind of 93 octane were you running? if it's ghetto AMPM gas, or some other ghetto gas company, of course, but Chevrons gas is some of the best, or 76 has those 5 gallon drums of 104 that you can buy now :D
