Was wondering where I could purchase or find the software to access the ECU programming for the 06' & up M45's?Since I cannot find anyone to tune my car, I would like to learn to do it myself.Anyone know where to direct me for this software?

Unfortunately, no longer a Nissan or Infiniti, but continuing here at NICO!

I suspect that you will not be able to find anything that does the job.

You may not be willing to accept this, but "tuning" the ECU parameters in these Infiniti (and other modern) engines is not something for the faint-hearted or with amateur dabbling efforts. There is a ton of work that goes into making sure that all the engine parameters that are measured and monitored, work correctly together across the full range of values that every variable can have. Plus, in most modern ECU's, there is a lot of interaction to the TCU (and other microprocessors in the car).

The gains will be minimal for the effort, and hardly worth the time. If you truly want lots of power from these engines, your efforts (time and money) are better invested in building and designing a turbocharger or supercharger ... and even that will involve ECU changes too. Well beyond the normal capability of all of us who do not do these for a living!

Regardless, if you want to proceed with this anyway, I wish you all the best and good luck with the effort and project!

First thing you will have to do is crack the encoding.

Good luck!

It was worth the effort of trying I guess. I get the point. I would rather invest in a turbo, but like you said, it still has to be tuned either way.I already spoke to a local well known turbo shop. He pretty much stated the same thing. He said he could design a STS turbo kit to fit without a doubt, but would still be in a bit of trouble when it came down to tuning the car.He said he could use an external computer management system to adjust the fuel curves, mapping, ect.. over the factory ECU. Though he said we could be asking for more trouble than it would be worth. I agreed.Wouldn't these ECU's be closely comparable to the ones in the G35 coupe or sedan? There are turbo and supercharger kits and tunes for these cars. I would think there would be minimal changes. At least for the M35 to say the least.Well... I tried. I won't give up just yet though. I will eventually find someone that knows this car very well.BTW: Has anyone tried and tested Jet Performance chips? I know I wouldn't send my ECU you out. Surely someone has tried them.

I would be very careful on the newer light duty 4.5 as much of the gains over 90-96 4.5 came from reduced friction in narrower rings and bearings. Lack of lead in bearings means zero reserve for knock and stress.

333 lb/ft means they have stretched to 95% of what's possible without supercharging and better gasoline. 74 lb/ft per liter is very very good.

no you couldnt use one from a G for the fact of the EMS's are based on the 6 cylinder. if you was to go all out id suggest either a HKS Fcon or Haltech standalone but you will be doing alot of trial and error for there isnt many of the M's with forced induction or full out N/A Builds. you would be breaking the ice sort of speak it would be a pretty pricey endevour. but a fun one at that. i wouldnt use a piggy back for it could cause alot of headaches. its all in the learing curve being one of a few to attempt such things. check with the Q45 guys i think the motor's are similar they might have some good insight on internal failiarues from Boost.

Hopefully when i get home and i talk with the guys at uprev to crack my ECU they would probably need a M45 ECU to do it for the M45 guys. i know its hard waiting when you want to do things right now just give it some time. understand tho that its like an uncharted territory looking for more power and it gets very $$$ when there is not much aftermarket help

+1 for going at it id like to see what you could do with tat project.
