the glove box is to small

the middle of the back seats like where the transmission hump is to small

under the seats is tight plus dont know if the seat can clear the ps2 while moving

and the good old trunk has way to much vibration from my system to keep that cd steady plus i cant keep going back there to change a cd.

Ok. In dashboard. Which would be cutting a hole in the dash. Thats a custom job. Under steering collum where your knees go. Depending on how big you are. Either one of the four kick panels. Ive seen that done.

I would suggest putting it in the rear somewhere as I hope the driver isn't the one using it. The PS2 is large and there isn't much room in the J. Maybe try mounting it <underneath> the glove box. Definately not in it as it's not large enough to put gauges in. The PS2 is funky shaped too, not gonna look good anywhere. Try either the Xbox (mounted in rear window) or a small PS1.

I have a J30 and I was planning on stashing my PS2 in the glovebox area as soon as the weather gets a little warmer up here. See, the glovebox itself is tiny. But, try taking out the liner that actually IS the glovebox, and you will be amazed at how much room is actually there. After you removed the glovebox, cut as necessary to tightly squeeze the PS2 in. If it is cut tight enough, then you would not really need anything else to hold it in.

Give it a try and tell me what you think.

ThanksJON

Actually that sounds like a good idea if I understood it right. You are totally taking out the glove box and putting the PS2 in that space. Thats a good idea. Who needs to put gauges in the glove box. Thats what a pillar is for. Great idea.

People that don't want to see gauges all the time and people who like to drive sleepers would want them hidden. But that's off topic.

also you might try the middle console, I've seen some custom equalizers and other larger items stashed in there and look really good. As for me I'm going to put a hybrid Gamecube/DVD in my rear armrest, mostly cause its small cube design will fit nicely in there.

the best place would be between the rear seats and the trunk, in where the gas tank is. plenty of space to mount it with vibration isolators so the bass dont trip it. you can cut a hole in the place where the rear arm rest folds into to the drawer can slide in and out.

you will run into trouble putting it in the glovebox area because of numberous other control units and the passenger airbag assembly.
