ddm tuning is probably the most popular around here, they look really good.

temp is a personal preference, if you want a slight blue then 6000k would be best, 5000 is pure white. anything less that 5000 will become yellowish, anything over 6000 will become blue/purple/pinkish

over 6000 is typically not recommended due to it causing fatigue on the eyes while driving.

Oh okay cool. I'm sorry I'm not too familiar with cars and stuff and I'm still learning. Is ddm a brand or a style? Do you know what the average price is for HID lights? I'm looking at craigslist and they're all about $65 with the conversion kit. And there's different types, like "slim" or something like that. Can you explain to me please?

im not going to push you into something you feel uncomfortable about, but its a really easy task, the only thing you could do wrong is touch the bulb... yea dont do that. but its pretty easy, if you needed some help during the install we can set up a time and i can help you as best as i can :)

with the ddm tuning kit, you might have to reverse the wires in order for it to work properly with the stock harness. real easy, just need a small screwdriver to hold the tabs back. also for future reference, try this.

dont mean to be a d!ck but i see a lot of your threads could be answered by searching.

+1 on the DDM tuning kit, i just put mine in yesterday with no problems and they look great. Got 6k for both headlights and fogs. I didn't have to reverse the wires, but i did have to use their extra adapter they supplied. It seemed as though the stock female plug didn't get in contact with DDM male plug. No biggie there either. And like i said they look great.

I have the DDM tuning kit with 8000K bulbs for the last month or so with no problems whatsoever. No flickering, always start up, etc. Only problem I had when installing was the reverse polarity issue, but technically, it's a problem with the wiring Nissan did on the headlight harness as opposed to it being an issue from DDM tuning.

It really is a simple install, though. If anything, get a friend to help you install it. Don't pay anybody to install it.. you might as well burn your money away.

I installed so many types of HID setups in my altima.
I had too many issues with ebay kits, ddm, even local lighting shops.

After all the money that I wasted on this, someone told me about MORIMOTO Elite HIDs.
They run very well, I havent had so much as a ballast blow or flicker at all! The whole setup
runs $166 but you get Top-Of-The-Line Quality and lifetime warranty! They come with some of the heaviest duty double LED relays.

Because of this experience, I found out that NONE of the Altimas "need" a CANBUS system. The ballasts are thin and can hide inside the fenders using one bolt. (That's how mine are) Another thing, No Altima needs capacitors.

Morimoto's Fire up VERY fast. They are built top notch. YOU CANT GO WRONG!

Why 35w for the low beams and not 55w? Also, is it the same kit for fog lights since the fogs are also h11?

People use 35w bulbs for fogs and low beams because the 55w bulbs are often way too bright and too hot. The bulbs can cause melting issues in your headlight housings. You also want to avoid blinding people as much as you can because its not only annoying, but unsafe to you.

Awesome thanks. Also when ordering from DDM what needs to be added from the four separate options?

Mounting brackets?
HID Harness?
Error Eliminator?
Adapter cables?

Just get a 4.3k - 5k HID kit with D2S bulbs. The 5k bulb will emit a more blue hue in lighting. Anything beyond 5k will make your car look like a ricer. :tisk:
