I went to my local nissan dealership and was amazed by all of the NISMO performance parts that they carry. So i proceeded to find out about factory parts. I asked about basically a water pump for the CA18det and he said that they cannot get them!!! I was very shocked. For the Sr20det same thing. The can get intercooler kits, upgraded turbos, suspension, and injectors but not a water pump. So i just wanted to know WHAT IF i need a water pump or alternator or timing belt where can i get those parts???? Thanks:confused:

And yes, you can just go to autozone and get parts that match those engines...but be careful with waterpumps...I've heard bad stories about refurbed waterpumps from parts stores.

always buy new pumps! even the one auto shop i took my car too told me they stopped hassling with refab pumps due to failure ! they buy dealer pumps they say it cost a ton but they come back less often which makes it cheaper in the long run!! i reconmend avoiding autozone too.. they keep pissing me off!! i spent 30mins with them trying to find a exhaust for me and then when i went to check out they had like 6-8 people standing around and i stood at the counter with a pile of crap totalying over 100$ and noone even botherd to help me or even give me the hint they wanted to help me, no somone will be with you ina sec. nothing so i turned around and walked out !!! and thats just the most recent... i had one a few monthes ago that resulted in me about throwing a starter motor at the storemanager because he refused to give me my money back after selling me a bunk starter!!! he wanted to know how i rebuilt my old one to work without having reciepts for it!! Cause i did it my self you aszhole!!!! and it took my friend dragging me out to keep him from being dented in the face by that starter!!! eeeerrr jst thinking about it gets me going again!!

Yeah autozone does suck in the service department. I will also post up a nice pic of what happens to a cheap water pump under high stress/boost.
