Would I have to go to my dealer to obtain this? Or would I somehow have to get it from the manufacturer? This kinda sounds like the a noob question, but I'm just asking cuz I want to start doing some minor modifications to my G and not have to worry about all the BS I might get next time I take my car in for an oil change.

People often misunderstand the dealer repair facility vs Nissan relationship.
A dealer is in business to make money and only has 2 sources Nissan and you [or in severe cases your insurance company].
A dealer knows what Nissan will reimburse them for easily and what else after a fight. Legally dealers are obligated to look out for Nissan, and as their largest source of easy money MOST do.
When a dealer refuses to try to get Nissan's money and opts for yours, YOU must deal with Nissan ZONE, then Region, then National to get the ok for dealer to charge Nissan..................
Warranty replacement parts must be returned to Nissan for lab evaluation and subject the dealer to BACK Billing if they change a good part or the part is obviously abused by owner.
Torn between pushing Nissan and getting caught later.
