My Z has alittle power, something I'm working on, but I need a LSD for my style of driving. Anyone know any sites or market for LSDs for the Z31?

"your style of driving" what's that mean?

plenty of places sell them. anyone who sells an LSD for an S13/S14 sells an LSD for a Z31. They're the same LSD.

Quar, KAAZ, cusco, nismo, etc.

That's a little missleading. True, they are both r200s but the z31 uses a long snout and the s13/s14 uses a short snout.

Doesn't matter. No one sells the whole assembly complete with all the internals done up. All aftermarket suppliers just sell the basket. You have to take your diff out and install the LSD unit yourself (or have a shop do it).

Its not a major concern. I just wondered who had them, the car will handle okay. I'm just trying to make it easier on me.

So I need a r200 long snout, right?

the case only matters if you are buying gears, the carrier is the same, so the length of the housing is irrelivant

Thanks Evil. every little bit of info helps. And thanks for the patients! I try not to ask stupid questions. I'm working on my first Nissan!

Isn't the manual ( I have an auotmatic for a few more weeks) have a shorter drive shaft? Can I go with the long nose to match them up on length, or is it the other way around?

All Z31s use the same differential housing.

on the S130 the auto and T5 trans use the same output yoke, but the n/a trans uses a different yoke, so I'm not sure if your yoke will even engage your donor trans, and you didn't specify which trans yu'll be using, ideally you get the shaft form your donor, or evne better sell the auto car and buy a man trans car, it'll likley cost you less to change cars than to change transmissions

Thanks Evil, I have too much money into this one all ready. And I decided on a rebuilt FS5R30A from Jasper Transmissions. So alot of things like the master and slave and pedal set will be bought new. The drive shaft is the problem. It's something I don't know if I can get rebuilt or remake. I'll end up with everything but a shaft and shifter is what will happen.

And I don't know why, (it was a piece of s*** when I bought it), I dig this car. And there's no rust or dents...(bumper was melted by tail pipe at one point, (before I got it)! But I want this one... the car has spent more time on jack stands than on pavement though.

I'd spend $3-400 for good work, especially since I have no choice but to have what I want built... or go to the junk yard, which is always my last choice. I like new, dependable parts, that I installed with my hands... plus I learn more that way.

An LSD has been installed, proven over weekend and a set of tires.

panty sniff much? these threads are bad enough but your "contributions" are bringing the lock to all of them, you have nothing of your own to add only to try and stirr the crap, well thanks for that
