Where Can I get a Service Manaul in English for an SR20DET red-top???Please help

Yeah I have a red-top SR20DET and I have Electromotive fuel injection on it. Where can I get a service maunal for this engine? I know it obviously came out of a silvia form the late 80's-early 90's. I can find out exactly if you can tell where I might be able to find this. Can anyone sned me a burned copy???

Honostly what do you need? Because I am in doubt that an S13 SR FSM came out in english. Remember that the S13 was not released by nissan in Australia (so that english speaking country is out) maybe a CA there. And I am pretty sure that in england they only got the CA18DET S13's. But if you need an SR FSM, here is one for the S14. Its almost as good, if you need help with some of the electrical wiring then maybe we can answer any questions.

thanx for you response speed racer. What I want is a couple things, I am a member of a team at Cornell University and we are going to be putting this SR into a 2002 Ford Explorer, along with an electric propulsion system.. If you want to know more about the team, go to http://www.hev.cornell.edu But, on to my questions. So are you saying that the red-top SR20DET that I have is from an S13 body? and the engines for the different bodies (S13 vs. S14) are different? So the S14 links that you attached are fairly applicable to my engine, just not identical because these manuals are for the S14 version of my engine? I assume that the S14 version of my engine is the black-top? Do you know of any website that has info about my engine, like its specs, tips for tuning and diagnosing? What is the factory max boost on my engine? I do not want to exceed this number. I am tuning this thing on the dyno, and i am having a couple probs. I am noticing that the #4 spark plug keeps getting fouled, so either that cyl is not sparking or the injector for that cyl is leaking. Can you think of any other possibilities. I also want to understand better the wastegate system including solenoid, I want to know what the solenoid does? It's responsible for opening the wastegate, right? Thats why I'd love the engine service manual, so I can see how everything plumbed, and why? Can you explain the electrical and mechanical theory of my wastegate solenoid so that I can tell my fuel injection system when to turn it on (we want factory max boost) I also want to learn a bit more abut the EGR and the evaporative system, as we must use these on our truck. I assume the EGR just comes on when the EGR solenoid is energized, so I want to know all the conditions under which it comes on during the factory setup, so that I can program my fuel injection to energize this solenoid at the right times. The egr solenoid is the only means used for controlling the egr, right? there are no mechanical controls or anything? I also want to know the theory of the charcoal canister, it doesnt have a canister purge solenoid, so I want to know how it is plumbed and how it operates, and when, and why? I have a few more questions about this engine, but I'm sure I've already asked too many. You seem highly knowledgeable about this engine, would you be interested in helping our team out with a little bit of technical support? It would be great if I could call you and pci kyour brain for a couple minutes. Can I have your phone number? Or do you know of a company or person that might be willing to answer some of my questions over the phone. thanx, Quin Garcia

Tho i have to ask.. If you are creating a HEV, why use a motor that is not smog legal?

Well Cyberkrieg, I'd love to search, read, and research but being successful in that requires a manual or a good friend. The reason why we're a using this engine is because it is small (lightweight), powerful (adds 200hp to our 180hp electric motor), and efficient (good mpg in addition to the high power). True the sr20det is not very smog PC, but that's why we have a $25,000 catalytic converter!!!!! It could purify tear gas!!!!!! So, now that i've answered your question, would you give me a little bit of help with mine?

sounds like they didn't buy the 25k cat. they designed it.

honda B16A could work too. and those were available in US models. and the US engines are LEV

[/quote] Yeah, the S14 is good for torque specs and diagnostics etc.

The max boost for the stock turbo is about 14psi.. max for the internals is debatable.

thanks for the great info, cyberkrieg. The cat was not designed by us, it was donated to us, but the sticker price is $25,000. It's funny cuz the thing has the same external dimensions as a regular cat. its the inside that counts. The honeycomb is way finer inside.
