hi i am looking to get an ignitor for an rb20, i think thats what my problem is, i have no spark on #5 cylinder, the coil is fine, when i plug it into another plug it sparks, just not on #5, there isnt 12v going across the ignitor on #5 but there is on all the others

You can retrofit either a J30 or a Z32 ignitor (I went with the Z32). But yes you will need the actual ignitor out of either car. I just bought mine new from Nissan.

Carl has an entire writeup on how to retrofit either ignitor to the RB20...even has the part number for the kit from Nissan. Only took me like 30 minutes to re-pin everything and it worked like a charm.

Of course it's an RB20 ignitor.

I have a spare RB sitting over here. Anything else that is small that you might need?

BTW...$60 Shipped from Japan to your door.

Two weeks tops.

My wife is JSPEC.

If you want it, I can mail it to you tomorrow. I have it sitting on my kitchen table.

What I would do is send it to Oki and have TMS mail it priority.

Ya know, I hear people talk about EMS all the time, but I don't know what it is. Can you bring me up to date on that, Carl?

Make sure you guys always check your spark plug wiring harness..

I'm on my 3rd one now.. They get old, brittle, exposed to a lot of heat, and they break. I spent way too much money on an ignitor thinking it was the problem.. wound up being the stupid wire harness.

Just something to check..

If you are talking about the wiring harness that goes to the coil packs, I have one of those to if it's needed.
