Let me ask you this, have you corrected teh cause of the original lieak?

If not, I don't see what you would accomplish by adding more R134a to a flawed system.

Well, it's going to be tough to tell when it is full as cahrged and lubrication is defined by weight and you don'[t know how much you lost.

Proper procedure is to evacuate the refrigerant, filter, and charge with appropriate wieghts of each including lubricant with a new dryer in place.

Why a license is needed to purchase refrigerants and it is a federal crime to vent such sysytems in the atmosphere.

Anyway, check the FSM if you have the tools and license.

I would think that anyone who cant even find the fill valve should not be attempting ANY type of do-it-yourself repair or service to the air conditioning system. Take it to a qualified a/c specialist for complete checkup and recharge if needed AFTER they repair/replace any components found needing it.

A/C work is best left to the experts if you want a long lasting trouble free well performing system. Do it yourself usually results in screw it yourself when it comes to a/c diagnosis and repair.

qship96 speaks the truth.

It's kind of like that old adage of a client who represents himself in court has a fool for a client.

Well, there were a couple of other more important problems we were addressing, like the cause and the methodology to address it correctly.

But any guy who doesn't need to consult the FSM is way better than us.
