I am a proud owner of a 1990 Nissan 300zx N/A. I really want to start doing some cosmetic work on the car, upgrading to Xenon or PIAA is of great interest to me. Could someone show me a website with affordable quality headlight set-ups? I mean everything that I would need to do it. I'm kind of a noob when it comes to that stuff.

Also is the sound system in the 1990 decent? I know it's not the Bose even though I've heard nothing but bad things about that Bose. Just was curious as to if the sound system is decent enough to get by with.

in my opinion the soundsystem is fine, unless you plan on doing the whole "pimp my ride" thing and putting tvs in your ttops and subwoofers in your steering wheel! lol! but as far as HIDs go dont bother collecting pieces just buy a kit! i got mine off of ebay for 140 bucks and they look great, they arent bixenons mind you so at the moment i have hallogen high beams, but its not that deep to me, it would have been only an extra 100 bucks for bixenons.

First off, welcome to NICO!

Second, the only way you will be able to get true Xenon's is if you spend $1600 on '99 JDM Headlights. But other than that, you are stuck with ordering a HID kit, which ranges greatly in prices and the more you pay, the better quality you will get.

For me personally, the stock sound system is ok, but is lacking. But I personally don't really care about sound, so it doesn't bother me at all.

Heh thanks guys, this will be my first 300zx. I have never even drove or riden in one so alot of questions will be answered in about a month or two. It will also be my first car, not a TT mind you but hey I still look cooler than alot of other cars out there and I have room for improvement. I'll post pics of the car when it gets here. Looks like it's in good condition just need a new belt for the power steering and A/C don't know how much it costs to get that put on but buying the belt isn't exspensive. Heck maybe I can just do it myself? I don't know.

I plan to do HIDs and rims and prolly a TT spoiler on the back. I still Don't know whether to go mono-chrome or just chrome see as how the car is a dark silver. But I guess it just all depends on the look your going for.

Any more info about Z's would be greatly appericiated and man let me tell you, I'am so happy to be a Z-owner.

Does the N/A have variable valve timing?
