go to autozone or pepboys or pretty much any auto store and get a spectra filter and piping they also have mock up kits u can buy to see exactly which pieces you need to purchase to make your own intake but you will need to make your own sensor adapter by using a dremel tool or something but its fairly easy. let me know if you want more info as I have made one of these intakes before and it was very successful the most you might spend is about 40-50 bucks AT MOST counting the filter.

Take the top of the airbox off, put some tape around the filter.

Same HP gain (1-2), no money.

I used a dremel tool i first measured the sensor and marked on a piece of spectre piping then used a dremel tool and bit and cut out the shape then used a file to smooth the edges the sensor comes with a rubber piece around it hold on to that and use it when putting in the sensor it will fit perfect as long as u get the right shape with the dremel tool. make sure you put the sensor in the right way another thing is that u will need to put a piece of rubber that comes inside the filter inside of the tubing on either side of the maf sensor or else the car wont idle right let me know if u have more questions and i could give u more steps and take some pictures for you!

Here ya go!excuse my grammar but im lazy :chuckle:

Ok so here is my intake setup, the small tube connecting from the engine to the intake is not needed as long as you leave the rubber piece connecting from the intake manifold to the stock air box.

Image

So the MAF "mass air flow sensor" is the piece you see right before the filter this is already on your stock air box, just unscrew it and be careful not to get anything on it or get it dirty as it could affect your idle and other things you will see the screws i have are not the ones from the stock air box i had to use screws with a point so i could screw them to the intake to make the threading.

Image

This was the tool i used to cut out the the space for the maf sensor to fit into i measured the sensor then marked on the intake with a marker where i needed to cut. U can also use a dremel tool or whatever will work haha. Its pretty easy just make sure its cut along the lines you marked or else air might get in and could mess up the way the air flows through the sensor.

Image

This is how i cut the space for my sensor, when you put the sensor in make sure it goes the right direction or the car will idle funny. after your all done putting the intake together if it idles weird i would come back to this step and turn the sensor around haha :dblthumb:

Image

This is the piece you will need to put inside the piping after the filter and before the maf sensor i have no idea why this is needed but it needs to be done or else the car will for sure not idle correctly. you can get this piece out of the inside of your filter as it will not be needed because you will need to take it out to fit the pipe into the filter.

Image

This is the inside after cutting for the maf sensor make sure you use a file and smooth off the inside and outside where u cut and use a rag or something to clean out the inside so no pieces are left when you put the intake together.

Image

this is what it should look like.

Image

And thats pretty much it on making the intake except for linking it all together which is pretty straight forward but before buying anything i would ask your local autozone or pepboys to borrow the spectre mock up kit to find out exactly what pieces you will need to purchase to make your intake.

GOOD LUCK ! :bigthumb:

Would it be easier to cut out the MAF sensor "hole" from the stock intake by cutting a rectangle around it, cut a smaller rectangle in the new intake and glue it on? That way the original MAF hole is on the new intake and you can't put the MAF in backwards with the original. (unless you glue it on the new intake backwards  )

I just took off all the extra crap from the front of the airbox to the grill and use a K&N filter. Feels a bit peppier. Low cost.
