do you have any idea how loud straight cut gears are?

and is there any reason you want them? is this a race car?

hmm Dsport did an awesome write up on trans comparing staight cut, slant cut, dog boxxes and yadda, but man the stuff was super expensive i think sourcing another rb25 trans or rebuild the one you have now, or even talk to the guy who is making z33 trans adapter would be cheaper, and i didnt even think of the noise factor heh

here is os giken stuff

http://www.osgiken.co.uk/

here is ati

http://www.atiperformanceprodu...t.htm

i think that h pattern is only ay to do a street car

yeah so maybe the gm adapter plate and a t56 (if it will work don't see why not) might be the best way to go unless you can find someone in japan that can find a you a dog box for cheap. gl on that too.

i've been kinda tossing the idea around of rebuilding my RB25 transmission as well...has anyone ran a T56 on these motors? How far back does it extend the shifter location? I know as far as building up a 25 transmission...the internals are the same as a Z32 NA...but finding built internals for it has been kinda hard so far. I'll start really looking tnto it when my transmission goes pop though...lol

subaru guys run PPG alot... they make nissan stuff too... http://www.ppgearbox.com.au/index-html.htm

theres a few PPG dealers in the US

the stock trans will last if you're not smashing every gear trying to be the next john force on the strip. if you are, just get an auto

lol! I'll make my way on the strip a few times for sure...but my car is a street car. Unfortnuatly, my TQ should outweigh the TQ rating of these trannys...so its a grenade under my hand until I get it built properly. Who wants a boring auto when you can have a fun manual?

I have the OS Giken 1-5 gear set in my RB25 trans, the gearing is nice, but the peace of mind is the really nice part. To be honest though, I'm getting to the point where I wish I'd just done a TH400.

this one time on the internet

no, I've just read that these trannys dont like torque above like 500ft lbs, specifically the 3/4 gear shift forks...so I would just like to make sure i'm not going to blow it up

I know Nick at Omega-Motive was working on a Z33 adapter, but it's been placed on the back burner until work slows down.

I bought the trans/gearset used from a local guy, as I recall the gearset was purchased through otomoto in aus.

WTF, I can barely make this out so let me translate.

Redln33 or some #$%^, its not easy, you need to machine like an inch off of the z33 housing but he said the shifter was in the stock location.
