I love my car because I'm know I'm part of a group of elite sports-car enthusiasts...No one in my town has one, no one I know of has one, the people I know that do have them (on this forum) are all car-enthusiasts, and the 240 handles like a dream/is a rear wheel drive...thats what sets it off from your run-of-the-mill POS civic...now all the ricers that would be getting civics are gonna run and get 240's...they don't deserve them, they don't have the skills to drive one, and they'll only get them because Fast and the Furious will tell them (however implicitly so,) that they should get a 240, and that they are cool cars because they can "drift." Damn damn damn damn damn. The only good thing about this, is that, like someone said, it will raise the value of my 240...No one appreciated the 240 before, but after the movie, everyone and their brother will love them...see what movies do to the weak conformists of society who swallow all the drivel that's told to them in a sexually (of the car type..) appealing type of movie?ARGH

Of course it doesn't make you an elite car enthusiast by just buying the car...but I was before, and I am now...I love driving, I love the handling aspects of the car, and I love a nice firm suspension set up on a RWD car. Most people bought them (whether first or second hand, mostly second hand) because they were light, RWD cars with excellent weight-distribution and handling stock--they certainly didn't buy them for the magnanimous amounts of power they were putting out...And, most "elite car-enthusiasts," even those with limited budgets like me, don't buy $1000 rusted out 1989 240sx's....I'm just saying that the vast majority of people I talk to with 240sx's are car-enthusiasts...this message board confirms that premise. Now, 4 seconds off 1/4 from stock is NOT a lot of work and yes, suping it up was worth it. I had the civic (until it was stolen on Oct 24th, 2002) way before the F&F so don't you go berzerk on civic's owners and say that they have their civics because they saw the F&F. For your information, FWD can drift also. Any good drifter can drift any car. The question is how easy and fast you can drift it and with the exit speed. You go ahead dissing F&F2, tell me that you won't go see that movie. I think F&F was still a good movie, for cars of course, not the plot and the gay talk that Hollywood gave out..."...some SR20DET before race war and johnny tran was looking at them civics, or how DOM said he lives his life by 1/4 mile at the race scene when the race seemed like it was 2 miles long..." ****s like that I don't appriciate, but i do appreciate the fact that it has good cars in the movie, them chicks, too bad no titties, and that's it . I'm glad you loved the fast and the furious, and its phenomenal cars/casting. Sorry, but this is a 240SX forum, puts you and your civic up shi.t's creek without a paddle...I didn't say GOOD fast civics aren't nice, I'm saying a 240 is nicer, and handles better any day than a RUN OF THE MILL civic, ie, a stock civic DX...I wasn't attacking the "fast" civics, I was attacking the "stock" civics that everyon loves "modding" because they are such good looking/fast/goodhandling cars...I don't know what the comment about drifting was all about...In no way did I ever say that a CIVIC couldn't drift, or did I attack the Civic's inferior performance because it COULDN'T drift. Anyways, my civic had a motor swap, just a b16, bolt ons like i/h/e with MSD igition and coilblaster, fuel rail and fpr, a chipped mugen gsr ecu, stripped interior and running on 17" rims. Oh, i forgot, 75 shot of ZEX.

Also a stage 3 ACT clutch, lighten flywheel.

As someone who owns both a civic and 240, I can personally say civic's and fwds don't drift, they powerslide. I love my civic, even though its not as fast as AznRide's, its just a lot of fun to drive and work on. But its no 240, the handling on that car just blows my civic out of the water. C'mon man, you gotta give credit where its due.

Actually, revving the engine high enough to matches the gear that you will put in, most cases, 2nd gear. Not by reving it REAL high and pop the clutch. By doing what you do, your car will be uncontrollably, which can cause wipe out. Unless you're really good and recover from a wipe out doing a 360 drifts, but I doubt YOU can. Anyways, while civics are FWD, they can "drift" or some cases, people call them "power slide" or whatever the hell. It still does the same job, doesn't it? The car still going side way, exit a corner with a fast speed...anyways, I agreed with you that FWD cannot drift, but however, they can immitate drifting by powersliding or whatever. If it walks like a duck, it sounds like a duck, what do people think it is?

sorry, I lost my civic, and i don't have a 240 so I don't know good the handling is. So flame on my for what i said bad about 240's. But my next car is DEFINITELY a 240sx, 95up model. If i do get a 95 SE model, i heard that it came with LSD. Can I use that LSD for my sr20det transmission?

No, they come with 5 lug rims though. : ) Some have LSD, most don't. You can use the LSD from a Japanese one or from an American model.

This is why I dont get into which car is better than another car.

My aim, with whatever car i own, is to make it better than stock. Period. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.

As long as it can turn better, top faster, accelerate faster than it did when it was stock, I'm happy. I do not need to have a faster car than you. You can get to 120 mph before i do but i'm still gonna get to 120 mph. So what did that prove?

You can accelerate better than i do, but i get better gas milage than you do.

Each car has it's strengths and weaknesses and its is up to you chose the car that will match your driving style.

If u into drag racing, get a good stright line car and corners be dammed.

If you like corners and curves with your road time, get a car than can hug the curves like it's on rails and to he.ll with the 1320 (1320 ft=1/4 mile?)

If you want a show car, pick anythign with 4 wheels and knock yourself out.

It is up to you to chose YOUR ride, trick it out to YOUR specs, so that it will please YOU (and maybe show judges) cause inthe end, YOU are hte one who gotta live with it and sit on those shag carpet seats YOU installed.

Everyone else has NO say in YOUR car. All they gotaa do is look at it. If they dont like what they see, they can look away or die for all I car.

This whole one car sucks more than the other car mentality is gettign on my nerves. Honda coupes can seat 4 people in them, while the 240, (If I can ever find one0 can only seat 2 people and a baby seat/grocery bay. Each car is different for a reason. WHat if there was only ONE type of car? Think about that. It like some high-school bickerign shi.t that has no meaning.

THe same applies to one engine beign better than another. HTe Honda engine, make terrific gas milage and is one of the best consumer cars out there. It has almost no torque but it wasnt designed for that.

the SR20DET is a very good engine for racing and stuff but I dont think its gas milage cant compare to the Honda engine (correct me if I'm wrong)

why can't we just enjoy each other's cars strengths and not bicker like kids over the weaknesses.
