Stemmed off of the afraid of death poll.

When you die, would you rather be thought of scornfully, and with disdain by many, or not remembered at all?

This is a tricky question for me, because I wouldnt want to be hated, but we also live forever in people's thoughts....Would You Rather

Hitler, Stalin, Chirchill, Mother Taresa. Hated or Loved, famous for the rest of human history. Remembered as evil cant be worse than not remembered at all..

It all depends. If you are immediately forgotten that means you have done nothing to have an effect on the world. If you are hated by many, perhaps you have still ultimately done good for the world. I would rather be forgotten immediately than remembered as Hitler is. I don't want to be responsible for 40 million deaths unless its 40 million horrible people and it would truly make the world a better place. That is all purely in the eyes of the beholder though... I am sure Hitler thought he doing the right thing by killing 6 million Jews.:(

Thought of scornfully by many.

The best ideas are often not the most popular.

Being a Christian, I feel that many people think of me scornfully because of my beliefs, but if I died for what I believed in, then it would definitely be to my avail. :)

ah. i'd like people to say: 'hey that pirate chick, she tried to hook me in the eye once!' :D

again, another innate human attribute of ours is the need to be acknowledged, whether in scorn or in high esteem ..it's because we are social creatures. That's why we would rather be remembered than forgotten...we're all striving to exist aren't we?

Haha, you remind me of my friend Sky, my friend is obsessed with pirates, so much so that she joined our sailing team just so she could call herself a pirate :)

I'd rather be forgotten. I don't think I could do anything to make that many people think of me scornfully. and if I could, I'd want people to forget about that.

But then she called my NAAAAME...I think it's gonna RAAIIIINNN....when I DIIIIIIEEEEEE....sorry, lapsed back to high school there.

I would rather be forgotten right now, while I'm living, let alone when I'm dead. But that's because I am xenophobic.

You left out, "Be missed and thought highly of"....

I'm not concerned - I know I'll be missed and I'll be well-received by those who've passed on before me, and I'll be happy to see those who arrive later (that I might have had a positive impact on in this life). Maybe even some of you! :D

ALICE IN CHAINS ROCKED!!! :ylsuper

I'd rather die forgotten then do something bad enough that I would be remembered and scorned. Being remembered for something good would be nice though.
