Dear pals,

I have this scenario;
my electrical tech man tells me that for my QX4 2001, only three of my coils have power delivered to them. My car starts but grunts because only three plugs are working. He is insisting that i change my ECM cause a part of it is not working properly( i have already changed all of my six nozzles and all the coils are o.k). I dont know if thats neccessary. My gst scan showed only a fault with the camshaft position sensor P0340. this is probably due to the poor ignition signals.

Do i really need to change my ECM? How can i confirm if my ECM has really gone bad? and does anyone know where i can get some affordable ones for export from the U.S. They are very expensive here in Nigeria ~$700 for fairly used ones excluding installation charges.

I would appreciate any advice :cry: .

I'd probably try replacing/swapping camshaft position sensors around first to see if the issue follows the sensor.

That's pretty wild troubleshooting on his part.
How did he come to that conclusion?
I'd get a second opinion before spending money on an ECM.

Yeah generally the ECM is the last resort.
