+1 on this. A couple weeks ago I changed the oil in my 2018 Rogue and my wife's 2014 Rogue. Mine had about 1500 miles on the oil and hers had about 800 miles. I hated to dump good oil but did it anyway because of our short trips and the high heat and humidity here in Florida. We both work at home and now due to covid we drive even less than we used to. I used STP 0W20 in both cars.VStar650CL wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 9:30 amThe trouble with 2200 miles and infrequent use is that humidity will build up in the crankcase and eventually form acid sludge. Long trips will boil it out, but the grocery store won't. I wouldn't go crazy over "time vs mileage", but 6 months is probably a good interval in most climates if mileage isn't reached. It's a judgement call, mugginess is the enemy and change accordingly.
There's absolutely no stricture against changes that are more frequent than the recommended intervals. I tell all my customers very openly that if they plan to keep it a few years and trade it in, use the book interval. If they plan to keep it forever, keep it to the traditional 3K.Jimmy9190 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 5:26 pmEdit--I left out that both of our Rogues are under Nissan Extended Warranty so I have to follow the 6 month/5,000 mile oil change recommendation in the maintenance schedule. I keep all receipts, write down the date and mileage and anything else I do at the oil change and even save the old reminder stickers from the windshield, all for proof of maintenance just in case we ever have a warranty claim.
THIS, all day long.VStar650CL wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 7:00 pmI tell all my customers very openly that if they plan to keep it a few years and trade it in, use the book interval. If they plan to keep it forever, keep it to the traditional 3K.

With modern engines, your first 100k is pretty much guaranteed, trouble-free. With that said, here's an indisputable fact: The best oil is clean oil.
Brand is, for the most part, irrelevant (don't @ me, I'm not interested in arguing, and you'll be wrong).
