I noticed when i go to the gas station and i try to fill the tank up it never fills up all the way. The pump stops and when i start the car up it doesnt show full. Does anyone know why this happens? Also i noticed a loss of gas mileage. Fuel filter?

Thanksm

Common problem of the early Gs. Take it to the dealer and have them replace what they need to replace. They should know of the problem or be able to diagnose it no problem. Do this while its under warranty.

There is a sensor in the neck of your gas tank that is faulty. There are bulletins on this on infinitihelp. com that you can print out and take ot the dealer to show.

ALL dealers should be aware of this. I have an '05 that I bought in Feb. '05 and this happened to me about two months after purchase, however, they had not traced it to the valve sensor and actually replaced my entire gas tank to solve the problem. They have since noted the sensor issue.

Hopefully this is under warranty for you.

there is a tsb for the shutter valve, but ive also seen the instument cluster go bad also the fuel sending units. there are 2 for simmalor issues. if while your filling the pump stops when its not full and then you can pump again then its the shutter valve but if your tank is full and its not reading full then its one of the other two things.

ps. no replacable fuel filter on these cars
