my car shakes. i just had that accident not too long ago and they did some front end work on my car, could that be the problem? i also got two new front tires, is it possible that they did not balance the wheels properly and that is causing the shake?

on another note, my car has started to whine a bit. i dont hear it all the time, but the other day i was driving some old windy roads and i noticed that it was making an audible whine. i pulled the car over, turned the engine off for a bit and waited. i turned the car back on after a bit and the noise has stopped. but then i noticed after a bit more driving, the noise came back. i repeated the steps above and it stopped. is this a normal noise or am i going crazy? either way, im taking it into the dealer tomorrow. it's about 500 miles short of my 30k service too.

lemme know what you guys think.

as always, thanks in advance homies. :mike

Are you talking about a mini whinning noise that sounds like a mini supercharger?

does it sound like it's coming from the wheels? If you have aftermarket rims it could be the wheel bearings could have gone bad. this happens if your wheels are a bad offset as it changes your SAI/ scrub radius and causes severe wear on the bearings as a result. could be the cvt but this could also be it. if you have the stock rims put those on when u bring it in just to be careful so they dont say u voided the warrenty if u still have it. I plan on doing calculations sometime soon to find the best offsets for wider wheels.

i had a front end collision over a year ago and when i got my car out the shop my transmission was making the same noise. if u hear the whining coming from the engine bay and u have a CVY then i would definitely check the trans fluid. i took it back to the shop that fixed it and they said the fluid was low. make sure u don't burn up that CVT!

Vibration is the unbalanced wheels probably. No idea on the whine, never experienced that.

I figured out the issue withthe mini noise. It turns out my intake was loose from the throttle. Try tightening itif its loose. As for the vibration, it could be either unbalanced wheels or your disk brakes if braking at that speed

Im familiar with this so called supercharger noise. I never had it until like half a year ago.. But i got used to it i dont think its anything serious coz i got my car serviced and there was no problems . I also didint notice any changes in performance.

That whining noise, the kind I experience sounds like the power steering. I've had this same somewhat mid range whine in all kinds of cars, my Dodge Neon made it after a 20 minute drive and was more obvious when I was parking the car (no road noise to hide the other sounds). My Altima is also 3.5 CVT and it has that kind of certain sound, but only start about a few months ago, so I'm guessing from my previous experience it's the power steering pump just getting older or something. Hasn't caused any problems, and I take my car in to the dealer every oil change and nothing is reported about that to me.

Oh and I should note, the whine is not high pitched, and does not really seem to change with the engine rpm, is there during idle too, after driving around some.

mine has done it since i could remember b4 i started modding, (i got this car brand new, now at 36k miles) im not afraid of it being harmful or anything... i think if it was, my car woulda crapped out by now, just super curious to what it is... its loud, i can hear it over my intake on the highway, its louder the higher the rev,& i usually hear it after long trips or "spirited driving" but it seriously does sound like a mini supercharger or something

okay, so my car made the noise with the tech in the car. he told me it was the alternator clutch fan kicking in to deliver more power. it kicks in when you push your car into higher RPM's. i noticed it on the altamont, in the northbay in a hilly area and on a really curvy foot hill road. he was telling me that up hill climb would be something to trigger it easily. when we got back the the dealership, he had me rev the engine in park. and even then, when we got to high RPMs it made the noise. he said that it is nothing to worry about, just means more power is being delivered. he also said, if the noise gets louder or changes sound, it is something that would need to be fixed.
