When the unlock button on the key fob (non-intellekey) is held down, the front windows roll down. I am remodeling the house and bending and squatting causes the windows to roll down without my knowledge. Now that the rains are here, I'm worried!!!I tried leaving the fob in the car and using the key to open the door but that sets off the alarm. Is it possible to reprogram or disable the functions? Thanks, Kurt

Welcome to NICOclub! I hope you enjoy the Murano Forum.

I have had the same thing happen, my son and I were tackling each other in the living room, but it was my hatch that opened and hit my garage door. I don't remember if there is a setting within the vehicle settings. I will check it out tomorrow, otherwise if there isn't, I believe the dealer can disable the window roll down feature.

I bought these covers for mine.

I haven't set the alarm off or put the windows down since. You'll need to slide them off if you use the keyport.

Funny Story (before I bought the covers).I was building flower boxes for the wife using 8x6 pressure treated wood. Each box was about 250-300 Lbs when done. I bent over to lift one up on its end so I could get it on the dolly....Murano behind me.....keys in my pocket.....alarm goes off when I have it about 4 ft in the air..... scares the crap out of me....wooden box crashes down on my foot .....trip to the ER.

To my amazement no bones were broken. A week using a cane and Percocets and I was good as new. Damn that horn is loud!

LOL, sorry, had to laugh! That must have caused you to crap your pants as well! I know I would have freaked as well, I am sure at that point you knew you had to find a solution to the issue!

That crazy that it's that sensitive. The dealer should be able to disarm those features for you. For a small fee of course.

That's fine....My wife (especially) and everyone in the ER got a kick out of it as well.

I remember reading in the owners manual that the window down feature can be disabled by the dealer. I imagine they can also disable the hatch open feature.

The Wife and I were at a really nice hotel this weekend, parking the car and getting our stuff together. Well the hotel staff and the "lookie lou' and louis" were all craning their necks to get a look of the Murano (it's still an oddity here in Europe). The parking lot was dark as he11 and i was having second thoughts, i pushed what i thought was the lock button on the toggle but hit the emergency button

My wife dropped her bag and ducked and i stood there like a dork trying to turn it off!!!!! The entire front of the hotel was now on full alert!

I got it turned off, walked up to the doorman and said if he hears that again go save the car first than come get me

I left him a 20$ tip when we left and the Murano survived the dark parking area (of course i checked on her every morning)

The toggle needs to have fluorescent markings or small LED lights on it

The "gizmo" factor is really high with the Intelekey and the pushbutton start but functionally they are worse than a standard key on the column. As automakers grasp for the latest gee whiz useless "luxury" add-on we are no longer drivers, but passengers in cars that drive themselves.

It started with the I-can't-shift-it-myself auto trans, the I-cant-roll-up-my-windows power windows, the I-can't figure-out-when-to-turn-on-the-wipers rain sensing wipers, the I-can't-park camera, and all the other BS they can pack into it. I certainly can't take a key out of my pocket and unlock the door. In fact I'm sitting on the porch 'cause I forgot how to use the key.

I'm glad this is my wife's car. I drive a F150 5 speed with roll-up windows and a '73 Jensen Healey. I can still figure out when it's raining for myself.

That is HILARIOUS!!!! My wife isn't a fan of the rain-sensing wipers either! LOL

Yeah, the rain sensing wipers are one feature I could have done without. You can't get the sensor set correctly so they end up either wiping too often or not nearly enough. And I love what I call the " 'tard mode " feature....where in a slight drizzle the wipers will sometimes go to full throttle for about 15 seconds for no good reason at all.

Yes, yes, my wife has spoken of that before! You know what seriously works awesome? The Rain-X washer fluid. That stuff is the bomb! I don't even have my wipers on when I am on the highway. It if funny laughing at all the psychos that have their wipers going full throttle, and mine aren't even on. FYI, when you first switch to the Rain-X fluid, make sure you drain your tank completely of the crap fluid. Also, it usually takes a few days to a week of spraying the fluid when you first switch to have it built up enough on your windshield. I can tell you though, it works wonders!

Welcome To Nico (a bit late).

This function can be turned off if you so desire. The dealer is the only one who can **** it off using the Consult III. It is a simple parameter change. Next time you are in for service have them shut it off if it is becoming a PITA.

As for the rain sensing wipers I am sure there is a way to modify the settings for this. I will look into this next time I am at work.
