Hi everybody! I wanted to say Hello as I'm new here, and found this forum after buying a 92 vert and looked around for something to put in it. I'm wondering if anyone knows when are the best times to look for engine's? Is there any certain time of the month when most of the container ships come in, or is it just random according to the buyers. I have looked at every single site under ?Where did you get yours" and RB motors are a little scarce right now. Don't get me wrong, there are some available but its kinda slim pickins and I was wondering if most of the dealers get their shipments about the same time, that way I would have a better selection and hopefully get a better price. And if anyone has any advice on what to look for, and what to look OUT for, I'd sure appreciate it, thanks guys.

PS: The KA24DE in it is siezed up, looks like they ran it out of water and just kept driving. I told the guy I bought it from he should take his grandson, who did it, out behind the wood shed and beat some sense into him.

I'm pretty sure its random. It has to come into the port then get passed by customs, which probably means the shops can get them any day of the week.

There are not allot of verts out there with RB's. Make sure you know what is involved in the swap. Come out to Firebird this weekend (17th NOPI) and check out some swaps. Where in Phoenix are you?

Thanks for the reply's. I live out in Tonopah, about 40 miles straight west on I10, got tired of the city I was born in. I have done a few swaps years ago, mostly muscle cars and I have been reading like crazy through out these forums, lots of great stuff here. And I do plan on coming out to Firebird this weekend. Of course you guy's know the real RACING season gets under way this weekend down under, F1, and I don't miss any of those, but thats what VCR and DVR's are for huh? Anyway I do hope to meet some of you guy's and kick around some ideas, like maybe going with a RB20 and building it a little or maybe even going with a VQ35. I just want a stop light to stop light rocket, mucho low end torque and extremely dependable, makes the VQ sound better all the time. I don't think my wallet will allow an RB26 so I figured the rb25 was the best choice, any thoughts. And I'll check the Canadien stores tomorrow and wednesday.

I have a rb going in right now (not the cheapest option). See you at Firebird.

Go with a VQ if you can. That would be a rare swap into a 92 vert .

sil240, thanks for the heads up, I checked the rb motors parts page then the listings under the 240 forums, then the marketplace but couldn't fine it, if the guy's name is fredb is there a way to do a search on his name to bring up all his posts? And is the google search on the right the one to use, or is there another search engine somewhere on the forums. It will take me awhile to find my way around here but that might be a great deal if I can find it pretty soon, thanks for the help guy's. And remember Formula One gets it rolling this weekend, any other fans on here? Plus, why are Honda and Toyota running cars and not Nissan?

I found it over at the other forum and its been sold, but ol fred is going to try and sell some kits so he will have more.

Here's his sale thread. Sounds like he was just selling the motor for $2650 or something.
