When did you guys start modifying your cars? Your first car that is, doesnt have to be a 240 (unless of course that was your first car). Just wondering cuz Im bored and maybe if I get replies that say my age I will be happy and will give me greater inspiration.

If you count Stereos, I started learing at about 12 years old. My dad owned a Car Stereo shop for about 1 month. We had some left over crap and we had a old beater car. Started modifying cars when I learned my dad lied to me about shift points and I discovered what redline was. =) I got my first car around 16. Learning the meaning of redline came 1 month later.

hmm i started at about 12 with performance parts. my cousins all got new used mustangs then. they started with rebuiling their blocks and i was the little man running around with wrenches socket sets screwdrivers. yep. havnt really modified my curent car yet. all ive done are tinted the sidewindows and i was planning on utting in the stolen cd deck that sits in my runk but im thinking bout selling it now. hmm well and if repairs count then ive been fixing my car since i was 15.

Got my 240SX in April 2002. First aftermarket modification was shocks in July of that year.

Age 7. Put lightened wheels on my Cheetah, stiffened the pedal action, and then went to down on the hill near my house. Took a turn too fast, flipped the Cheetah and crushed my clavicle on the concrete driveway. I was laid up for the entire summer, had to wear a brace that kept my arms stable and out to my sides. I looked like Boris Karloff.

I see. I was never really into systems. Guess thats just my taste. May get a couple subs and a head unit once i get my performance rolling.

Im gonna start off with:- Rims, Springs, Exhaust, Intake, Rotors, Brake Pads, Brake Lines, Shocks, & Struts, Short Shifter, Driveshaft, Clutch, Flywheel, Spark Plugs, Wires, Headers, Pulleys, Radiators, Electric Fan, & ECU

Figured that would set me back at least 5 grand (with about 1/5 of that being the rims). I dont wanna start boosting or swap an SR before ive got the lil things.

I bought an HKS turbo exhaust for my 1987 Mitsubishi Starion ESi-R in 1995. Then I pulled off the stock airbox, and thought it was really cool to watch the oh-so-inaccurate stock boost gauge bounce further than it had before.

I started placing hot wheels in the middle of the street when I was 7.
