Looking at a set of 235/45/18's going on to a set of 18"/7.5" Infiniti wheels with a 40mm offset (5mm less than stock) -

Still have the stock springs. Can this setup work WITHOUT any interference as this combo should be about a .4 inch outboard increase ?

Anyone running something on this order with or without rubbing @ full lock ?

Q45Tech should be tickled as this picks up a freebie 3/4" on the wheelbase !

Thanks in Advance

Mike

You'll be fine. We have a set of custom 20" x 8" 42 mm offset(front) wheels with a 20" x 10.5" 32 mm offset (rear) that fit fine. The fronts rub at full lock, but we also increase in height. The rears are a different story, the finder wells had to be flared 2" for clearance!

I sold a set of 18" BBS RX2's to a Q owner, and he never had any problems, even when we lowered it.

That would be track, not wheelbase.

Not sure how "tickled" YOU'LL be if you're running less than the factory-spec load rating. 2 of the 3 tires TireRack carries in that size are BELOW the recommended load rating (Michelin and Bridgestone). The Continental, however, exceeds it at 98 (AND it's the cheapest).

When do I get my "Honorary Tire Technician" patch? :D

Don't understand how narrowing the track increases wheel base?

Sorry about that (AZ - tire size WILL be changing) - the calculation I ran actually shows:

.591" - "Tire /w Wheel Outboard increase (inches):" for a total of 1.18" - "Effect on tire track (inches):"

as per the calculator @ http://gs.tolan-hoechst.com/tirecalc.htm -

Again - thanks for all the valuable insight !

I'm still happy with the Kumho 255-50-16s all around, mounted on four 300ZXTT rear wheels. Except that the change has emphasized I need new rear struts. I get a tiny little rub against the fender lip on big bumps. It's okay -- rear struts were in the Master Plan. They've moved up in priority, though.
