I am new to the 300zx, I have a 1990 that I would like to put new wheels on. I found a set of wheels that are 17x9 5x100 5x114.3 +35 in size. The dealer tells me that "These will bolt on to your 300ZX but will be a very wide wheel for the vehicle so some modifications may be required. It should be a pretty close fitment."

Not quite sure what this means, will they fit or not? What modifications are they referring to? What do they mean by close fitment?

Thanks,

Dave

The sizes do seem close with that offset, with the deciding factor of whether they rub or not the tire sizes you run and whether your car is dropped at all with suspension mods.
Trouble issues would be rubbing in the rear with bumps, and rubbing the inner fender wells in front when turning...with the modifications usually "rolling" the fenders to create a little more space...and the entire scenario referred to in general as fitment- fitting the wheels/tires to the vehicle safely so they last AND look good.
Others here are FAR more versed on wheel/tire sizes and may have more specific info, and there IS a wheel/tire size guide at the top of the General section... :gotme
