Hey, new to the site but just needed some advice, I was wondering how wide the rear rim needs to be to fit a 305 on a 350z and also would the tires stick out real bad from the factory fenders, im running 285's now and still has about two inches left between the top of the fender and the tire. Thanks!

I'd say at least a ten. Why would a 305?

Also count on getting your fenders rolled if you car is lowered.

distance between the fender and wheel/tire is measured in millimeters! get a ruler and measure the millimeter distance remaining between your current setup and add that amount to your current tire width. that will provide you with the proper tire width to make your tires fit flush. then work backwards and find a wheel that will fit into those specs.

good luck....

You'll need to worry about wheel offset as well. I don't see him on NICO anymore, but a member here runs 305's in the rear on his 350Z. The offset on his first selection of wheels caused the tires to rub on the inside. He had to ditch those and go with another set of wheels that would make them set a little farther out. If you decide to go with coilovers in the future you'll need to take that into consideration as well. His tires also rubbed the lower spring perch when he installed them. So, he had to go with a shorter spring in the rear. Also, most tire manufacturers recommend wheel width based on the tire you want. For example, Toyo recommends a 10"-12" wide wheel for their Proxes R888 305/35ZR18 tires.

Im running coilovers now with only a mild drop, the offsets on the wheels I want are +18, but I could also get them in a more positive offset...

He's running ADVAN RS wheels 18x9 +22 Front / 18x10 +35 Rear and Toyo R888 tires 275/35/18 Front and 305/35/18 Rear. He has ZEAL Super Function (A) coilovers 16/14 kg Springs along with a whole bunch of other suspension mods. 305's in the rear is do-able but it may take some other mods to make it work.

This guys' Z is a 670HP beast and he races it at Sebring against Turbo Porches, Ferraris and Corvettes. His mods are proven by trial and error and then actually testing it on the track. If it doesn't work then he ditches it and tries something else. So, I trust him. He knows more about modifying the 350Z than anyone else I know.

Thats sweet! I wonder what other suspension mods I would need? If i cant run 305's I want to at least stuff a 295 on there. I wouldnt think it would be to big of a problem since my car isnt that low (SC roads suck! BTW), I just got a turbonetics turbo kit on my Z and I melt the 285's down everytime I try to get on it a lil, and thats running nitto NT05's....
