When I get my 3-season tires this spring, it will probably be 215/45/17's on 17x7 rims. -0.6% deflection on the speedo (60 MPH on speedo is actually 60.4 MPH)

This size will be as close to stock diameter tire as possible... the set NY.AD.MAN has selected changes the overall drive ratio due to a shorter overall diameter. His tire choice nets him greater acceleration, a lower top speed, and likely poorer fuel economy. +4.1% deflection on the speedo (60 MPH on speedo is actually 57.5 MPH)

Correct, EV

Well... a little off...

I've only noticed a .5mpg difference in the last 4 fillups and my 0-60 time has improved by .7 seconds, which is good because I spend most of my time in the city...

However, I will be switching to 215 40 R17 giving me a .1% differentiation (error rate) allowing me the same performance and gas mileage as stock because I want a wider tire for better handling.

215/40/17 is a slightly less common tire size.

For example, Discount Tire sells 19 different models of tire in that size.

Compare that to the 215/45/17, where they sell 36 different models.

Just remember that your tires will stick out from your rim with 225's and the wheel is already wide enough to just barely clear the wheel well...

I'm still trying to decide if I should get another set of 15's to replace the steelies or to go higher. Either way 17 is the highest I would go...I would rather have 16's. The 2 companys I'm looking into is WorkWheels, the expensive OMG wheels, or Sportmax Wheels, the inexpensive OMG wheels. If you really want to put some cash down go with Buddy Club streight up JDM.
