I see lots of people upgrading their wheels. Are you using the same OD or is the speedometer now off? In atleast a few examples I saw on here it appeared to be a larger configuration. If so, any idea how to fix it? I know on the GM's that a Hypertech programmer will take care of that. Speedo gear change? I'm assuming that there isn't an ECU change for this (there doesn't seem to be much of anything on the ECU upgrade front, just 1 company for the most part).

Where did you get this information?

In general the whole concpet of plus sizing is the increase the diameter of the rim while reducing the sidewall height of the tire - so that the end result is the same diameter.

When you get to the larger rim sizes 20" and above that is where you generally start increasing the overall diameter. Any good fitment should be as close to the original diameter as possible.

so then on a 20" wheel what size tire are you saying should be used? I have 16 inch wheels on it stock, what are there supposed to be rubberbands on the 20s?

Not rubber bands but you get the idea. Look at the fitments of your fellow coupe owners with 20s.

The stock tires are about 26" in diameter. That gives 5" of tire between road and rim with the 16" wheels, but only 3" of tire if the rims are increased to 20". Not quite "rubber bands", but they will be more easily damaged by a pothole or a curb. Going to a little bigger than stock diameter for the tire will throw off the speedo, but there has to be a way to recalibrate it. Would be good to see a car with more rubber, filling up that big gap between tire and fender.
