wheels spacer. how much is to much???

just in general, no specific car (because i dont expect many people to have to knowledge about the versa), what is to thickest (non bolt on) spacer you would put on with stock stud.5mm, 8mm, 10mm???

5mm and that's it. Don't even think about putting thicker than 5mm spacers with stock studs. It's not safe.

Besides, changing the studs isn't a big deal so there's no excuse.
