If anyone is running a separate set of wheels for slicks or drag radials, what are they?

I've started looking around for something for the rear of my car to have a little more tire. I'll probably end up running ET Streets (or maybe a drag radial).

I'm trying to find a 16x8 wheel so I could run a 255/50/16 drag radial if need be, problem is, I have no idea what wheels in that size (or similar) are available in 4-lug.

i usually end up borrowing a set of slicks from my friend. Not sure on the specs, but we usually mount them on old school Z wheels, which are 14x6 I think.

they may be 195 slicks, but I honestly can't remember. Maybe 205.

How's the traction with real narrow slicks?

I can find narrow wheels easy (like my stock steelies or the "teardrop" wheels), but I just wasn't sure if only running a 6.5" or so slick was really worth it.

me = 4 lug :-x

I could use some of the 4 lug to 5 lug adapters I suppose, but those are kinda sketchy.

Rear 5-lug is easy... why not convert to 5-lug?

We got the front conversion hubs in stock at SPL Parts (http://www.splparts.com)

I don't want to convert to 5 lug because I already have $800 into my current 4 lug wheels :)

Buy two cheap rear wheels then... don't use skinny wheels for slicks that's just ghetto.

i mounted a set of 225-50-15 bfgoodrich drag radials on a second set of stock alloys. Cut a 1.79 60 ft with that configuration. I also picked up a set of 22x8 drag slicks mounted on 15x7.5 rims and cut a 1.448 60 ft. belieive it or not the width of the tire doesn't make that much of a difference as the compound.

Very interesting indeed. Best option so far looks to be the BFG DR's in 225/50/15 on my spare set of stock alloys. Do you happen to know what size slick would fit on the stock wheels? (ET Streets most likely)

I wouldn't go any bigger than a 225 width on a 6.5" rim. MT doesn't really have anything in a 15" diameter that will fit on the 6.5" rim. I will caution you about running diameters lower than 23.5" When I ran the 22" slicks they were making me hit my top speed limiter because of the effective change in gear ratio. Bouncing off the top speed limiter starting about 1220' mark.

FYI.... 225mm is 8.85 inches

No speed limiter for me.

I guess I'll be getting some 225/50 BFG's in the near future :)
