Hello everyone,

I'm proud to be a new owner of 2008 G35 sedan. I don't know much about wheels/tires. So hopefully someone can help answer a question for me? This is what I'm looking to do:

1. I want to upgrade to bigger rims and wider tires, I pretty much want to have a flush wheel well look (meaning that no spaces/gaps in the wheel well). But I want to know if you can do this without lowering the car and then upgrading to rims/tires. I've owned lowered cars before and I just prefer NOT to lower my G35, I just want to have a nice looking/cruising G35 car. If you can point me in the right direction it would be helpful. Thanks again everyone.

Absolutely you can do this w/o lowering your car-- lowering the car is not all its' cracked up to be (rougher ride, lower to the ground means you also increase likelihood of having a stone or object hit the bottom, etc.)- I used to own cars with lifters so do have some experience. What you can do is go to a tire calculator site (there are several on the net) and see which rim sizes and tires will fit. For some G owners, they are running 235/55/17's or 235.50/17's and the wheel well is completely full. Others increase the rim size to a 19 or 20 and just make up the difference with a larger tire. Just be sure that the clearance is within limits for the steel bar riding directly above the front tire-- that's your limiter and not the wheel well.

Good luck and hope this helps

Is it just me or does Tirerack.com have a limited numbers of rims they offer? What if i see a set on another site, do you think Tirerack can get them if I take my car to them for installation?
