Hey guys so im thinking about getting a set of wheels i got my eyes dead set on the XXR521 18x8.5 +25mm now heres the part i need help lol iv asked around but idk why im just not getting it maybe because i dont wanna have any issues with anything. My car is lowered with eibach springs. Idk what tire size to get i kinda get how the tire size works correct me if im wrong for example 235 is the width of the tire 40 is the sidewall height and 18 is the inch of the rim. Now what options do i have for tires to fit the rim size and not having any issues with the fitment or rubber ? So whats my best option to go with ? also if i wanted more rim showing than tire not too much would that be the the sidewall height ? Would really appericate it for the help so i have it down packed lol and when im ready to buy them :)

Sounds like you have are grasping the basic concept. You can fit a couple different tire sizes on a given rim. The tire you choose depends on what you are looking to do. Check out this website: http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp it will give you an idea of how varying the tire size will change the look of the tire on the rim as well as how it will impact things like speedometer accuracy.

You should not have any issues with rubbing with an 18x8.5 +25 rim regardless of tire size. I'd recommend a 235/35/18 if you want a low pro tire look. Do a google search, there are a million pictures that show what a 35 sidewall looks like on an 18" rim.

Weird. I have 235/35 on my rims which are 19x8.5. Anyway... 245 will work as well. Stretching refers to fitting tires which are too narrow for the wheel, in your case a 215 would probably be stretched.

ohhhh yeah duh that make sense so if i went with a 245 would the tire look alil more wider than a 235 and would it have any effect on more tire than rim cause i want more rim than tire? or again thats the sidewall height and has nothing to do with the width of the tire. sorry to be a pain im kinda getting it lol right now i got stock wheel 3.5 215/55/17 looks ugly lol

for some reason the original link above doesn't take you to the tire calculator. try this one: http://www.willtheyfit.com/
