Okay, I have a 1997 240SX SE. It has OEM disc brakes and 5 spoke 16" rims.

1. What year of Infinity Q45 Callipers will directly bolt on (Front and Rear please)?

2. Does anyone know of a wheel that looks just like my OEM wheels but with a larger width? I saw a poor image of some Q45 17"x7.5" wheels that almost looked like mine. Maybe they look the same, but i couldn't tell. Then I found someone stating that there's some 8" wheel for the Skyline that looks similar.

The R32 Skyline 5 spokes look similar to the S14 SE 5 spokes, but I believe they are also 16x6.5" in size.

On a side note, how's life in Monterey? I was stationed out there at the Presidio for a couple years and I loved every minute of it

R32 GTS wheels are 16x6.5". R32 GTR wheels are 16x8". The GTS and GTR look identical except for their width. Make sure youre getting what you pay for.

90-96 Q45 brakes bolt on. You need the calipers and rotors. 97-01 uses a slightly larger rotor (11" vs 11.6") and I'm not sure of their fitment.

I have a pair of Q45 calipers for sale if you're interested...

I assume you're talking about these Q45 wheels:

I am like 99% certain those are stock for that car. That's an interesting option, never thought of it before, nor did I know they were 17s'. Time to look on ebay.

EDIT: Found some. These are chrome, but they appear to be available in regular silver too. Besides, you can paint/powdercoat them any color you want. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...43957

They appear to be an appropriate fitment for S14s, although I haven't the foggiest idea what the offset is. Can any Q people help us out here? Doesn't FalkDesign have a 99-01 Q?

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I really only have internet access through work. Surely I don't play on the internet when I'm on the clock

Anyway, spanishricer and IWannaS15, thanks for the tib bits on the R32 wheels. the GTR wheels sound like the size I would like, but I'd need to see if the spokes look like my stock wheels and if the offset will work. Have you ever seen any pictures or do you have any specs?

HashiriyaS14, yes, those are the wheels I was thinking of. I found a link that has a close up picture http://www.wheelcollision.com/wccpix/73653.jpg The two look pretty similar. Then I called Tirerack. Cy (sales rep) couldn't tell me the offset of either wheel, but said many of the same wheels fit both cars and he suspects the Q45 wheel will fit fine.

get_up_mark, I took a look at those wheels, the spoke design is too different and I'm not ready invest in staggered widths. Thanks you for the info though. What made you decide to use z32 brakes? What year did you get? How do you like the feel?

IWannaS15, (yeah, i want one to. There's a guy in LA that sells them, but no one has gone through the DOT and CARB process with one yet. If I win the lottery I promise to do just that.) I'm curious about the fitment of the newer models. Bigger is better. However, thanks for confirming the fit of 90-96 callipers. I am interested in buying some within the next month or so. But I'm not interested doing an overhaul/ rebuild. Do you have all four and what condition are they in? What would you like to get for them? What breaks are on your car?

Finally, spanishricer, as usual, Monterey is beautiful this time of year. The rain finally stopped and roads like Carmel Valley, Highway 1, and Highway 9 are dry. So I bought some yokohama ES100 and am gripping the road like nobody's business. However, the wildlife is getting active again, so there's a lot more deer, possum and racoons about. I took out my first coon two weekends ago. It was a sad moment for Jessica (my car) and I to see Rocky (racoon) go out like that.

To all, If your ever in Monterey and wanna cruise some back roads, hit me up.

Haha, I saw the S15 in a magazine and didnt even know it was a Nissan. I had always liked the S13/S14, but had no idea they had a newer model in Japan. When I learned the car was a Nissan, I was in love!!

I believe the GTS wheels are +40mm offset (just like stock S14 SE wheels) and the GTR wheels are +30mm.

I would guess the Q45 5 spokes are 17x7 +35mm. Thats the offset of the 17x7 G35 wheels.

I have the front calipers from a Q45 (dont remember what year). I also have the rotors, but they look like theyre in pretty bad shape (rust!).

I never looked into the 97-01 Q45 brakes. FYI, the biggest Nissan rear brakes are the 2 piston with 297x18mm vented discs from the Z32. The second best (biggest) are single piston with 292x16mm vented discs from the 97-01 Q45 and 93-97 J30. The 90-96 Q45 uses 9mm solid rear rotors.

Check out the Wheels, Brakes, Suspension forum. There lots of info over there. And welcome to NICO!!

here are the R32 GTR wheels that were mentioned. they are 16x8 +30 and only weigh 17 lbs, pretty decent for an OEM wheel. fyi, the GTR and GTS wheels do look different, though only slightly. the pictures don't do them justice, they look awesome but not flashy like nice aftermarket wheels

here's a quick on the car pic, the tires are a little smaller than normal, that's why it looks a little goofy. i didn't bother to take any side shots, it'll have to wait till i put them back on.

I like the R33 GTR rims better. GTR rims end up costing to much though but look OEM clean.

Oh, I like the look of those skyline rims. Very nice on your car (I had that color in a '96 but totalled her in the rain last December). But I want the look of my stock rims. You know, sleeper, haha. So I'm looking to find more data on the 99-01 Q45 wheels. Then I'm hoping to find them in a yard or for cheap online. As for the brakes, I'm a little confused IWannaS15. You were listing some big rear brake sizes that I would guess to be diameter and width. Do the solid rear rotors at 9mm have a different diameter? Does solid mean no square vents on the edge? If so, would solid rotors be more prone to warping from heat and/or would they be lighter? I think I want the newer ones, but no one has told me if they will bolt on or not.

PS thanks for the welcome to NICO. I've been sneaking around the tech forums for several months now and finally got the courage to post a couple threads.

i got the z32 brake upgrade basically becuase i knew i wanted upgraded braking and a deal came for all the parts i needed so i jumped on it. the brakes stop great. you will notice it more at higher speeds. i have drilled and slotted rotors mounted for bite( top of slot hits pads first) you also will need knew lines. only negative thing i can say is the pedal feel is slighty soggy but its fine for me. aslo one side not. the Q45 brakes retain the factory 240sx bango fitted lines.

I mentioned the rear brakes sizes cause you asked about the Q45 rear brakes.

Vented rotors almost look like two discs held together like slices of bread. The space between the discs allows more heat to escape. Vented is definitely better than solid. The stock 240sx has vented rotors up front and solid in the rear. I was saying to avoid the 90-96 solid rears and go for J30 or 97-01 Q45 rears. I think the solid 9mm rear rotors have the same diameter (292mm).

Ive never even seen a set of the 97-01 Q45 front brakes. I really dont know how they fit. Maybe you can find the brakes and those wheels on the same car.

BTW, youre the first person Ive heard mention those wheels. Sounds like a good OEM/sleeper setup to me.

Ive got stock brakes right now. I'm looking for 30mm aluminum Z brakes for the front. For the rear, I want either the Z brakes or the J30/97-01 Q45 brakes.

I'll give you a call, Leo...
