So do any of you watch this show? It's on Velocity. Now I know must of you in General Chat are Admins/Mods who have rebuilt/built cars, but I'm just some guy with a Rogue who has learned a LOT about cars and how to maintain them from this forum!
I have to give a BIG shout out to ImStricken who is the Mod for the Rogue forum. He alone with his DIY has taught me a lot!

So anyway back to the show, I have to say the mechanic Ed seems to really know his stuff. The other guy who buys and sells the cars is great also, definitely a dealer :)

So anyone watch it?

LOVE that show. I enjoyed the episode where they bought the bright yellow Land Rover and gave it a bumble bee theme. I also liked the Bond Bug episode where Edd had to hang his leg out the window to ride in it.

It's a fun show, but I do get kind of annoyed at how badly they cut corners sometimes. They also almost NEVER do anything under the hood unless it's absolutely necessary...most of the time they don't even bother cleaning up the enginebay.

I enjoy their show too. I've driven most of the classic cars they "sort" at one time or another (but not a Bond Bug), so it's fun and nostalgic for me.

Yeah I feel the same way about them cutting corners, but I guess the whole premise of being a "wheeler dealer" Mike is trying to make as much profit as possible.

That show is pretty cool.. I kinda feel bad for the mechanic Ed, he is basically screwed into fixing whatever crap the other guy comes back with...

Even if there's one bit of truth to what they do, and someone can learn something from it, it's good to watch. If nothing else, it gives people a general idea what to look for when buying various types of cars.

lol That show sort of reminds me of what I used to do for Chris, the old classifieds moderator. (only I'm no super awesome mechanic like that guy...)

Looked up Edd China on wikipedia and it seems he is a little wacky (and smart, has a degree in Engineering Product Design) LOL
He is the Guinness world record for the fastest toilet!

I have watched Wheeler Dealers several times, and it's good stuff. I especially like learning a little about cars that you'll never see here.

There's another show that I got stuck watching on Velocity last night called Texas Car Wars. Kind of based on the same idea as Storage Wars, but they're buying cars at auctions in salvage yards in central TX. They can look at the car, but can't try to start it. Then you follow the fun as they try to get these things running and somewhat halfway restored before dropping them on someone. Kind of addictive... and there's a guy who sounds like Uncle Jessie narrating the whole thing.

I miss football...

Are you talking about the show from the U.K.? If it is, I've been watching it now and again on Sky Perfect on Discovery channel. It's a fun show.

The first one I watched was them buying an old fastback Mustang from the U.S., shipped it back to the U.K., fixed it up and sold it.

It's a decent show. They did one with an old Sprite last weekend. Cute little car. Makes me want to get into doing some stuff like that here with the money people will spend on buying cars, it could be a decent little profit.

I didn't realize until reading that wikipedia article that Edd China designed the double decker cars for Top Gear UK's competition against the Germans episode (hilarious show). The man has some mechanical skills.
