The famous nissan plug clips blow some major ace! Since installing the new shoes, eibachs, endlinks, and spacing my intercooler from my radiator i hadn't stretched my coupes wings. I gave her an oil change yesterday i decided tonight to take her out to a empty stretch of toll-way where i could open her up. To keep a short story short, both of my inner wheel well plastic covers are gone thanks to the cheap a$$ clips nissan loves you to come to the dealership and purchase on a regular basis. I got her up to 150 tonight, but i'm pretty sure the clips gave way at about 140 because i heard a slap on the ground at around or about that speed, but didn't slow down because the car was still smoothly rolling. Anyway, that's my beef with plastic sh*t fasteners that should have never been on the car in the first place. This coming weekend I'm going to come up with something else to fasten everything that is or was plug clipped on the car. A little upset to say the least. Thought I'd share.

I know your pain. Granted ive never lost any parts on my car, but i have had plenty of those cheap plastic clips brake on me and I still cringe and get pissed every time you hear that crack when trying to pry on out.

Those big plastic ridged screws in the truck are by far the worst thow.

Wait, so your complaining that clips broke while doing 150mph?

If something had struck the car I would think at that speed it wouldn't hold like it should.

In the past when I have needed to buy those clips, I found them at Lowe's. Sort of off-topic, but it's something to be considered.

OMGi know exactly what you mean i hate those fu*king clips dont get me started i hate them with a passion not to mention if you remove them more then once they will never be the same again i would love to just purchase a bunch of them, i ended up using zip ties to hold the bottom trim under the bumper because iv lost so many of them, one time that whole front trim came of on the highway and started scraping i had to cut my aux head phone jack wire just to use it as a wire tie to hold that trim in place. like i said i hate those dam clips they suck

yeah, completely gone. There was plenty of remains of hard plastic burnt to my tires, but the whole plastic pieces on both sides are laying on the side of the highway somewhere.

The only thing that struck the car was 150mph wind going thru the cut outs in my FM front fascia. The clips can't handle a damn thing. Have you ever tried popping one out without pulling the plug first. they just break easy as can be.

They're a cheap *** design and I refuse to have a single one of them on my car any longer. Should be an easy fix. I'll post what i come up with.

if you cut some more vent slots in the plastic for the air to pass through, they might not have broke off.

i really don't think it would've mattered if there were more vents. the clips have been in service for exactly 1 year and even the ones existing are super brittle and when opening them for whatever reason they would rather break than function properly.
