Well $265 per wheel ($1060) is not cheap in my mind, When I can find draglites here in KC (home of WELD racing) for $340 for a set of 4.simmode1 wrote:
Edit: I didn't really notice your sig before since I was at work and pc's there block sigs, but now I'm at home and can see you're tuning your car to to run 10's in the 1/4. So, like I said earlier, if you're doing timed competitions... lightweight is a weapon of critical importance. It's obvious now that you're not looking for a middle-of-the-road compromise kind of wheel that you can use at the track and on the street. You need that wheel the will give you those fractions of a second. So go ahead and pull the trigger on the Draglights with some big bulging rubber...

Yeah, but the Weld's have ZERO aesthetic appeal. But since that's what you're going for, get the Draglights.GODCHSR wrote:Well $265 per wheel ($1060) is not cheap in my mind, When I can find draglites here in KC (home of WELD racing) for $340 for a set of 4.
Whoa whoa... I am not poor or anything. I could buy $1500 wheels right now. I have the money. but my budget did not really allow for any upgrades aesthetically because aesthetics won't get me to my goals95Gstman wrote:I really don't want to be that guy but if you are shooting for 10's but can not afford rpf1's or two sets of wheels, then maybe you need to re-evaluate your goals. 10's is not as easy as people on the internet make it out to be.
I totally agree! Which is why somewhere in my mind I was cheering for the section of people who think the wheel weight isn't a huge factorsimmode1 wrote:

Very good point95Gstman wrote:It is not just about weight though. You are going to need some decent sized rubber to run that fast. Not many people run 10's on low profile 18's.
I don't think anyone thinks wheel weight isn't important. But simply that it's importance varies depending on what your goals are. And since your goals weren't immediately clear from the beginning of this thread, you just got a whole bunch of wild opinions based on everyone's personal perspective instead of what was needed for your project.GODCHSR wrote:I totally agree! Well this was to help me understand the principles. Picking a wheel would ultimately be decided based on the conclusion of wheel weight directly affecting rotational weight.simmode1 wrote:

But it was a good discussion/thread regardless.
